Pip really hoped he was just seeing things. Really.

He hadn't remembered the two very clearly, to be honest - after all, he only had one eye (a good eye, but still one eye) and the last time he had seem them was three months ago through the scope of a sniper rifle when he shot down their balloon in the hoo-haa that had taken place in Colvus. He thought that had been the very last he would see of them but...

Well, apparently stupidity had the tenancy of a cockroach.

Those two idiots were pretty easy to follow with the trail of chaos and disaster they had left in their wake. Pip leaped over a couple of fallen over bits of furniture and baskets as he glanced at the closing gap in the crowd, just barely noticing the two figures of Doc and Holly fleeing from the scene.

Hissing out an annoyed 'merde' under his breath, he turned back to Greed from behind and jerked his head in the direction of the duo. "C'mon, zey vent zat vay," he said before bolting off towards the two troublemakers once more.

Greed wasn't too far behind Pip; maybe just a step. He remembered what had happened in Colvus, though just barely considering he was pretty drunk during most of it. But, he did remember, though not by name, Doc and Holly.

Greed wasn't sure to be glad their target was so easy or to be annoyed to have to actually deal with them this time.

The two had picked up a third member in their little hunting party and Greed glanced back every few seconds to make sure she didn't end up trampled. Turning back to Pip he shouted back. "I can see that!"

Greed continued to push and shove his way through the crowd to make sure they didn't slow down.

For once, Coraline was glad she was so small. Though the crowd was thick, she could easily slip through the gaps the other two had left after shoving people aside. She did have a somewhat hard time keeping up with them, though; their stride was at least twice hers, so she had to run twice as fast to keep up.

She wasn't complaining, though. This was the first real 'action' she had gotten to be a part of since she left home, so there was no way she'd let herself screw it up.

Guess it vas obvious, Pip thought to himself as he hurried after the fleeing duo, shoving aside the crowd with shouts and yelps and mutterings of 'excuse me' as the mercenary pushed through the crowd in pursuit of the petty thieves, who were getting increasingly hard to go after due to the crowd blocking his view. The fact that he had only one eye did not help much. Dammit.

Cursing under his breath, the brunette twisted around as he saw the two turning round a corner into a line of stalls and followed after them, only to stop and stumble and almost falling down when he almost found himself crashing head on into a strange... furry anthropic lizard thing. The person... thing glared at him for a long moment, scrutinizing the human with some distaste before snorting in annoyance. "You almossst crassshed into me, human."

"A-Ah, apologies," the man quickly muttered, blinking in surprise before weaving around to catch up with Greed and the girl, shouting out to both of them. "Which vay did zey go now?"

Gilbert was, quite frankly, loath to go out into Kropmork again-he enjoyed the fights, but the beer was piss and the streets smelled like... the other variety of excrement. However... from what he'd heard of these idiots, the prospect of them groveling at his feet before their insignificant lives were ended was extremely satisfying.

He strode down through the crowd, paused, bent down to pick up the hat that some brat had slingshotted off his head, looked back up... and the gap was closed.

"Damnit!"

They very moment Yuri had made his voice post over the electronic journal, Shion wasted no time in hurrying directly for the aforementioned fireworks stand. As much as she longed to catch sight of the captain, she knew it'd prove far more advantageous if she found the two criminals. Not wanting to lose any more time, she urged her legs to move as quickly as possible, her breaths starting to emerge in rapid succession with her precipitous movement. The squawks of chickens and creaks of ravaged carts soon began to drown out the click of her footsteps - she noted to herself not to wear high heels the next time she went on a mission - and she knew that she had arrived, driving her to accelerate her rushing ( ... )

Jabu had heard the call from the other end of the carnival, and cursed his luck as he tore through the crowd in the direction of the carnage. Anything that could be shoved out of the way was, and anything that couldn't was dodged or jumped over; a trail of annoyed shouts followed him to the gap left by the fleeing duo.

He came to a screeching halt when he saw the debris littering the closing gap, cursing his luck again. He scanned the crowd, looking for someone else as lost as he was, and suddenly caught sight of Gilbert and Mion, who were already starting in what looked like the right direction, albeit slowly.

"Hey!" he shouted at them, fighting his way closer through the spectators and managing to shove his way close to them by overturning a flower cart and condemning a great many roses to premature death. "Which way did they go?"

Osaka had figured the journal notification could wait until she'd finished investigating (she wasn't near done, every flower stall she'd been to had told her "go down to the next street, they'll know there"), but hearing a particularly deafening voice from an already loud crowd made her dart her head around to find the source.

She recognized that voice! It was the guy who'd told her to go looking in the first place, and he didn't sound too happy. Maybe he was getting robbed or something, or maybe it was part of the job... oh, this was what she should be doing for work! She started to slip her way through the mob, losing flowers from her hat at every jostle of an elbow or knee, trying to catch up to where she'd heard her crewmate shout.

When she heard Mr. Jabu, almost equally as loud, she knew she'd found the right place. "Hey y'all, we find some bad guys?"

Yuri ran through the choking crowds as fast as he could, Repede easily keeping up. He didn't have any qualms about charging through those whom he couldn't dodge, and left a trail of indignant squawks in his wake.

"I hope you remember what fireworks smell like, Repede," he said. Repede growled lowly in return and plunged forward a few more feet, hot on the trail of something.

Yuri laughed, the excitement of the chase already kicking in. "I'll take that as a yes, then."

"Captain!"

Naoto called out to Yuri as she sped up to catch up to him and Repede. She didn't mind having to leave so quickly after dinner - her Amicus was not going that well, and the chance to pursue criminals was a lure that she just could not resist. Huffing slightly, she loaded her gun as she ran.

"The longer this chase goes on, the more likely it is that they will get away," she managed to say.

Akihiko joined up with Yuri and Naoto from one of the side streets ahead of them. His Amicus had been like any non-Amicus day, so finally getting some real action was an unexpected treat. He'd brought his Evoker today.

Akihiko didn't give much in the way of greeting for his two crewmembers, but did add, "We won't be letting them get away."

Yuri nodded decisively at both Naoto and Akihito. "They can't even manage to steal without tripping over things - I don't think we'll have a problem catching up."

Really, a bounty on thieves 'stealing Amicus'? If he hadn't been broke, Yuri would have laughed the job off, but well - money was money, even if it did involve running through the most ...indulgent celebration of 'love' in Reial.

Repede leaped forward over a cart and paused in the crowd. Yuri drew to a halt alongside him. "Where'd the go?" In answer, the dog whipped his head to the left and ran off down a broad street, his master close behind.

Asch snorted as he weaved in and out of the crowds. Damn, why is it that whenever there was a chase to be had, it was never easy and straightforward? He was no stranger to chasing, he did it quite often back when he was a wandering swordsman. He just hated chasing through crowded areas where the quarry could easy lose him.

Finally losing his patience, he moved towards the edges of the crowd, hoping to be able to gain some lost ground.

Well, forget going to investigate the town, Grell is going to push through the crowds. At least he's not getting mistaken for the damn woman again. Good thing William made him do tons of running around back home so the chasing doesn't bother him...unless these people get out of the damn way.

He managed to along the edges as well, catching a few breathes. His chainsaw was clutched into his hands, but it's not on plus he was using it to try to push people away....without stabbing them.

Out of the corner of his eye, Asch could see...oh it was that boatswain. Grell, wasn't it?

...why was the man carrying a chainsaw? In a place where there was a crowd of civilians!? Asch could already tell that this had the potential to go very, very, badly and figured the best thing he could do was take Grell with him, to at least keep an eye on him if anything else.

Thank god they were on the edge of the crowd. Asch lifted a hand to signal Grell over to him.

Those green eyes spotted a wave from not so far. Long red hair, and green eyes like him....This may be Asch, right?

He put his weapon of choice into one hand and pushed through a few people to get the younger crew mate. He fixed his glasses a bit while looking through the crowd one more time before facing Asch. Perhaps they may team up.

"Hm...Asch, correct?"

STUNNING CONCLUSION! tidesnpc March 11 2009, 01:39:44 UTC
Suddenly, the packed crowd thins to merely uncomfortable. Looking ahead, it is clear why - on the edge of the fairgrounds is a large open circle, currently occupied by a merrily roaring bonfire.

The two thieves, still running at a breakneck speed despite tripping over or into almost everything in their path, are headed straight for the blaze.

The trio had finally managed to get back some lost ground after that incident with the creature and were just beginning to catch up with the failing duo when they started to head towards the bonfire. With the fireworks in hand.

...ho boy.

"Guys, ve need to hurry!" the mercenary shouted out to the two behind him as he hurried in his steps, determined to catch them before things were going to get way too out of hand. Then things were going to get really troublesome.

"I'm running as fast as I can!" Greed shouted back to pip. He was in the middle of their group; Pip ahead of him, the girl behind him. He continued shoving his way though as to make a path so Coraline wasn't met with any opposition when following them.

He looked up a head and saw where the two were heading. "Shit!" Grumbled.

Coraline's jaw dropped as she saw where the duo were heading. "You've gotta be kidding me!" She yelled in disbelief. The more reasonable part of her was yelling to run and find some sort of cover before things blew sky-high, but she didn't listen to it. She was going to help them catch these thieves, damnit! But she had no ideas on how to close the gap between them before they reached the bonfire... just running and shoving people aside obviously wasn't working.
