Setting: The Winding Way; a storage room on the lower decks, just down the hall from the biggest cargo bay.

The loud sound of running footsteps signaled another arrival, and it was with great excitement that Momiji burst into the storage room, two giant baskets hooked under either arm filled to the brim with candy. "I brought the candy~" he sang. Spotting the table, he zipped over and set them there with a echoing thump.

Momiji's voice was what attracted Selphie's attention before the baskets were set onto the table, and not being able to help herself, she giggled. Despite not being able to tell if this kid was a girl or a boy -- although she was leaning toward a very pretty boy -- they were really cute, and their enthusiasm was totally contagious.

"Heeeey, don't we have enough candy?" she teased from her place by the table, not serious at all. You could never have enough candy, you know.

Momiji turned at the voice, beaming brightly at her. "Nope~ You can't ever have enough candy! Help yourself!" He laughed and pulled a lollipop from the pile, popping it into his mouth. "Mm! Cherry flavored!"

He released his hold on the lollipop's stick, holding his hand out. "Hi, I'm Momiji! What's your name?"

Taking a lollipop for herself without unwrapping it first, the cowboy hat-donning girl reached out her own hand to shake his, feeling just a little silly. After all, they were both pretty young, weren't they? It was kinda... strange.

"I'm Selphie! Are you new on board? 'cause I've never seen you before," she inquired, mirroring his contagious smile.

He was sooo cute.

He'd almost almost forgotten that he couldn't hug her. Inwardly Momiji sighed. Not hugging girls was harder than he thought! He'd always been content to hug Kisa to his heart's content back at home without any repercussions, but now that he was out in the real world, he had to be extra careful to not reveal his secret. He really wanted to hug her too, since she was so friendly and nice.

His smile never slipped. He squeezed her hand lightly before releasing it. "Hi Selphie, it's nice to meet you! And yup, I'm new~ I'm a new seaman," he chirped. "What about you? What do you do on the Way?"

And anyway, if Selphie knew about the curse and how he turned into a bunny-rabbit, she would never leave him alone, so maybe it was for the best. Right now, anyway. Until she found out. Which she would, yes.

The girl unpeeled the wrapping on her lollipop and stuck it in her mouth -- mmm, strawberry -- briefly eyeing whoever it was that came through the door before directing her attention back. "I'm one of the gunners! I mean, we don't get to do much lately, but whenever Captain Ryuzaki needs me, bang! I'm there." She hopped in place, seemingly restless.

...Did he just get a chill down his spine? Momiji blinked. His bunny-senses were prickling, but he wasn't sure what exactly he should be worried about, so he just shrugged his shoulders and ignored it. Of course ignoring the fact that ignoring the bunny-sense in the past had landed him in many predicaments.

"Well, that's a good thing that you don't do much lately, right? I mean, I'd prefer not to see you in action just because I don't think anyone likes fighting...but I bet you're an awesome gunner~" He nodded his head in a comically sagely way as he spoke.

"Oh, oh! The Captain! What's he like, I haven't seen him yet!" He began bouncing in place as well, but more from excitement than restlessness. He was eager to learn more about the ship and its people- why not start from the very top?
