That certain lack of food wouldn't know what hit it. Wolf had been in a good mood all day and when he was in a good mood, he cooked like there was no tomorrow! Somehow, Wolf had found a couple of multi-leveled trays on wheels and somehow he had wheeled them all the way down here, piled high with food. Of course, where there was a will there was a way.

Pushing one tray and pulling the other behind him, Wolf burst through the door and shouted, "Come and get iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!" He continued across the room to the table and began setting out the platters and bowls full of party food. Of course, because it was Wolf's cooking, there was a lot more meat there than one would have expected, but he'd still made a special effort to switch it up a bit.

Trailing in Wolf's wake, Tohru just managed to catch the door with her foot before it slammed shut behind him. She didn't think she'd be able to get it open again if she let it shut, since both her hands were engaged with carrying more food - her own efforts, while slightly less zealous than Wolf's, having been more carefully tailored to what she knew the crew liked and Wolf hadn't made.

All in all, she thought with satisfaction, joining Wolf at the table and sliding some of her own dishes into the gaps he'd left, they'd probably done a fairly good job between them. It wouldn't do to let Luffy down, after all, when he'd gone to the trouble of organizing a party!

Her stomach had been rumbling all morning, and Tank Girl, being the charming slacker that she was, had put off getting up until the party was actually ready to start. After all, if she waited long enough, there'd be food, right? And the best part of it was that it was made by someone else. She didn't have to go anywhere near the kitchen, which was how she liked it. Besides, the girl with red hair and the mice sort of creeped her out...

And look! She was right. Pushing past the two people who were putting food out on the table, she grabbed a plate and started to load it up as if there were no tomorrow. Ooo! And there was even tea! "Looks like you two're the ones to get to know for grub around here, huh?"

Oh good. It seemed as if they'd made it before most of the guests arrived. Just as Wolf finished emptying the carts he was suddenly knocked out of the way by a rather ravenous party guest. Wolf had to appreciate a girl who could put away the food but what he didn't appreciate was her disrespect towards the cooks.

"Ah-ah-ah!" He snatched her plate away from her and placed it down at the far end of the table. "Shovers have to wait their turn!" Giving her an obnoxiously sweet smile, Wolf turned and grabbed his carts, wheeling them into a back corner of the room where they wouldn't get in the way. Darned if he was going to take those things all the way back to the galley only to bring them back down again later.

"Oh, excuse me!" Tohru gasped as the woman pushed passed her. She stumbled slightly, just managing not to drop the final plate of sandwiches she was setting out.

Collecting herself, she looked up to see Wolf confiscating the plate. "Mr Wolf, um...there isn't a queue or anything..." she pointed out, hesitantly: shoving was rude, yes, but firstly, you still ought to be nice, and secondly, how was the woman supposed to 'wait her turn' if there wasn't anyone to wait for? Wolf and Tohru had pretty much finished setting up, after all.

"Turn?!? There's no line!" Tank Girl looked on in disbelief as her plate was shuttled far, far away from her. How dare he! Who did he think he was, anyhow? And even if he was in charge of something around here, she had a healthy enough disrespect for authority that her ire was roused.

Obviously frustrated with this "Wolf" character, Tank Girl turned to the younger girl who'd just finished setting down a tray of sandwiches. She seemed nice, or at least like someone who'd be easy to get her way with. "What's with him?" she asked in a stage whisper, jabbing an accusatory finger in Wolf's direction.

Ignoring Tank Girl, Wolf took Tohru by the arm and led her to another part of the room. "I know that, I just wanted that woman out of our way. I'm the cook! I don't have to make sense. Besides, someone who treats the cooks that way shouldn't be allowed to eat at all. She should be grateful I didn't take away her plate altogether." He glanced back at the rude, disrespectful excuse for a woman across the room and let out a little growl.

"It's not-" Tohru began, before breaking off at Wolf's hand on her arm. "Mr Wolf?" She let herself be led away, casting an apologetic look back over her shoulder at Tank Girl.

She ducked her head to hide the smile that slid onto her face at Wolf's explanation - she didn't want to laugh at him when he was annoyed, but 'I'm the cook, I don't have to make sense'? "I see, Mr Wolf. I just thought it would probably annoy her if you did that, and then both of you would end up getting upset."

Tank Girl smiled a slightly annoyed smile, but waved to Tohru nonetheless. As soon as both of the cooks were engaged in conversation, however, she struck. Send her to the end of the table, would he? Sneaking as quietly as she could, which wasn't really very quiet at all, and stole her plate back.

Eating utensils in hand, she then proceeded to quickly serve herself at least a starting helping of food. She knew that she didn't have much time before the Wolf guy turned around and caught her at it, so she just grabbed a few things, including a hastily poured cup of tea, and went off to mingle with some of the other guests.
