bah! who needs tea when you got coffee?

Content: A brief break for the Boatswain and a cup of coffee to ease the troubles.
Setting: The Kitchen!
Time: Sometime in the evening I suppose. Maybe late afternoon?
Warnings: None so far!

The search for the Rockgala had been quite a stress on Hijikata's already rather frayed nerves. They had been wandering round for quite a bit already, although finally with the new information that von Karma just got hopefully that would make everything a lot more easier. God knows how much longer he could stand wandering around in the Reial skies like that. The boatswain was never one to like wasting time like this ( ... )

A time like this, huh? That definitely didn't sound very promising but if her face betrayed her feelings, she did her best to hide them. Holding the empty mug of tea, she touched the rim thoughtfully as she tried to remember what it was exactly that the Victoria was looking for at this moment..

"..we're searching for the Rock...the Rockgala, was it?"

She wouldn't like to admit it but she wasn't really in tune with most of what was going on around the ship, usually nose deep into a novel or cooped up in her own room. It was times like these that really reminded her to step out more often, she was probably missing out on something important.

Adrian stirred from her thoughts as the water boiled and she dug around the shelves for a small can of citron to add into the mug before mixing it with warm water and honey.

Hijikata grunted in acknowledgment to her question as he took another sip of the coffee, mentally relishing the fine taste of the black java. Goddamn, it had been too long since his last cup. He was certainly going to need a few more of these if the paperwork wasn't going to be cleared off soon enough. The caffeine was going to be necessary if he had to burn the midnight oil tonight, what with the papers. There never seemed to be an end to them, seriously.

Placing down the cup after that sip, the boatswain was about to help to another cookie, but then paused when he remembered something and looked around blandly in the kitchen before going to the fridge and opening it, shuffling through the contents for a few minutes before pulling out a bottle of his all favored mayonnaise. Closing the door behind him, Hijikata made back to the counter where the cookies were and without further ado, slathered a ton of mayo over the cookies without so much as batting an eyelid.

She didn't seem surprised in the slightest when he paused for a cookie but it was when he stopped to retrieve the bottle of mayonnaise that she faltered. Just as she was about to take a sip from the mug in her hands, she watched with wide, vaguely horrified eyes as he must have squirted half a gallons worth of mayo onto the cookies.

The cookies!

Perhaps if it had been a sandwich or..well, that was pretty much it, it wouldn't have been as unnerving (although that amount of mayonnaise in any food was surely enough to induce some sort of heartattack) but to see it so easily slapped on top of cookies was almost enough for her to drop her mug.

"Mayonnaise on cookies?!"

She stopped herself before expressing any more shock but the damage was dealt and Adrian mentally smacked herself on the forehead for it.
