Characters: Ffamran and Giselle Content: Date the Second! (also tea) Setting: Melior Time: Backdated to before the Way and Victoria left Warnings: SAP!
"Ooh! All right!" Giselle was practically bouncing up and down. If she hadn't been clinging to Ffamran's elbow, she probably would've clapped her hands in giddiness. Flowers made everything better! (That and cake. And mice. And friendship. And true love. And -- well, a lot of things made everything better! Gosh, the world was a wonderful place, wasn't it?)
The mention of the Way, though... Giselle didn't exactly droop, but her smile did fade just the teensy-tiniest little bit. Oh, dear. All her thoughts from earlier came rushing back -- oh, why did Kurt have to leave? Well, all right, he had a very good reason, and Vash was perfectly capable (if slightly more flammable), and...oh dear.
"We've been just dandy!" she said finally, hoping she still sounded cheerful enough. "Our last play went off beautifully, Watanuki made a lovely Cornelia -- and the kiss --" She sighed dreamily, temporarily distracted by the beautiful memory of an overly-soppy play. Then she remembered what she'd been talking about, and she sighed again, a little less dreamily this time. "Of course it was such a shame that the Captain left -- it was for his health, poor dear, but still -- it'll be difficult getting used to a new captain...
"But that's just me being silly!" she continued, waving her hand a little dementedly, as though it were a matter of no importance. "How have you been? It must be exciting, being in the military!"
Ffamran had to hold onto her arm a little tighter, Giselle was libel to accidentally shake him loose with all of her cheer. She really didn't get out much -- that much was obvious.
"I caught the performance. It was truly memorable. I did wonder at the casting of a man for Cornelia, it seems you had plenty of lovely ladies to take on the role."
The rest of the news, however, was a surprised. Ffamran couldn't say he'd ever really met Kurt, or gotten a chance to talk to him, but it seemed that a ship without its Captain was a problem.
"I'm saddened to hear about your Captain's ill health. Did that leave -- Vash in charge, or have you found other Captain."
He figured Giselle probably didn't want to talk about it too much, her usually completely cheery voice was a slight bit less cheerful about the news, but he was interested, it was important to keep track of those sorts of things.
"The Military has not been particularly exciting lately, I can assure you." They were still working off the damage from Lunasa day, and the zombie attack.
