Although she'd never admit it, Tear felt more than reluctant to take an examination. She prepared herself each time for it, but she still couldn't fight back the waves of anxiety that threatened to reveal itself upon her stoic visage. However, having been trained to keep a straight, unwavering front, she had grown more than accustomed to seeimg completely unnerved.

Still, it didn't help the ripples of anxiety subtly undulating beneath her skin.

Disregarding all further hesitation - seeing how that wasn't any point in faltering - she purposefully strode into the infirmary, her stolid front set firmly upon her face. To anyone but herself, she'd seem like her usual self, without any disinclination for the routine check-up. Although, truthfully, she didn't have anything against the other crew members checking in...if only she hadn't such a large secret to hide herself.

Ryuuken approached her immediately, picking up a fresh sheet and clipping it down. "Your name?" he asked in clipped, no-nonsense tones.

"Tear Grants," she answered, promptly, turning partly to face him.

It was uncertain whether it would have been better to have Ryuuken or Isshin conduct her medical examination. The former was more stolid - not much unlike the impression she gave - but the latter held the tentative possibility of being capable of making her front slip. However, it didn't really matter at the moment. She'd just hurry and finish through this without complaint and without exuding even a tinge of nervousness.

"Take your shoes off, make sure your pockets are empty, and stand on the scale," Ryuuken instructed. "Have you gained or lost a significant amount of weight over the past six months? Is there anything unusual, any unexplained pain or discomfort, or anything else of note?"

After quickly slipping off her shoes and removing the knives held within the garter hidden beneath the slit of her dress, she headed over to stand upon the scale. "No," she said, answering chronologically, "and no."

Although her first reply was truthful, her second response couldn't quite be deemed as entirely veracious. It was not technically a lie, but the words still felt as if they had cut into her throat. She never liked to speak dishonestly, not for even an iota, but, with a situation like this, there didn't seem to be a choice. It was a relief to know that her visage still maintained its usual expression, instead of the jarring anxiety that continued to course through her.

"Hn." Ryuuken paused for a moment. If he were to take her pulse, he had no doubt that it would be going fast. Still, if she had something to hide, it would be up to her to come to him. He took her answer down, along with her weight. "Stand up straight against that wall." He indicated the stretch of paneling beside the scale.

Tear complied, striding over to where he beckoned, straightening - not that she hadn't been standing straight already, if not a bit more so, now that she wasn't exactly feeling exactly comfortable. She continually repeated her mental reminders, just to ensure her visage would not belie anything. Considering how she had taken medical check-ups before, it wasn't the most difficult feat, but it wasn't the most pleasant one either.

Ryuuken held the end of the tape measure down with the tip of his shoe, and pulled it up to measure her full height. This was done within seconds, and he wound the tape back up neatly. He jotted down her height, then nodded at the bed behind him. "Sit down."

With the height measuring finished, she strode over to the bed, taking a seat, as he had instructed. Letting her hands lay regularly besides her, she felt the urge to begin tapping a finger, but she repressed it, knowing it'd be a sign indicating anxiety.

Ryuuken brought out the armband and gauge, and wrapped it around her arm, rolling her sleeve up if necessary. After measuring her blood pressure, he put the device away, and rested two fingers on her wrist. He began to count her pulse silently, noting its speed.

Tear could feel herself tense slightly at the sight of the armband and gauge, but she remained still, not protesting in the slightest. Her blood pressure would check out regularly, she was certain, but she still couldn't help feeling a pit of dread within her chest. Good thing it hadn't started showing on her face yet.

As he set two fingers on her wrist, she knew he'd undoubtedly notice the slightly quickened speed. After all, she didn't have time to breathe in deeply to calm it. However, she had a response ready, in case he should inquire about it.
