Group Captain! Heading North; North EastadligenOctober 9 2008, 06:37:27 UTC
There was nothing quite like the smell of a good day out. Of course, Kurt's idea of a good day out and everyone else's tended to differ quite a bit. Not many people happily marched forward into an unexplored jungle.
But then, Kurt himself had probably done far more dangerous in his past.
With a grin he stepped to the side and watched everyone else pile from the ship. He lifted a hand and waved. "Everyone with my group, meet over here, please!"

"Hey!"
A brunette woman waved enthusiastically over at the captain, leaping off the side of the gangplank with relative ease as she jogged over towards Captain Kurt. She stopped in front of him and gave him a playful salute, smiling the entire time as she spoke.
"Yunalesca Bellevue, reporting in!" Yuna giggled as she brought her hand down. "Just call me 'Yuna', though! My full name is five letters too long." She was rather cheerful today for a reason, that reason being the thrill of adventure. She hasn't gotten a chance to really stretch her legs since the fair in Shashta and by now Yuna was just begging for an excuse wear her thick boots and shorts with both pistols hanging off the side of her brown belt. She wore a loose fitting white and pink tank top today; the jungle heat was just too much for a short-sleeved shirt in her opinion.
"Wow...look at this place." She commented as her bi-colored eyes wandered about.

Sophie had been ready for adventure, boots laced, hat tied on and frying pan over her shoulder--what she hadn't expected was having to coax Wolf out of the ship to go on this adventure. It had taken a while, but eventually she'd convinced him. Stepping out into the muggy, bright air from the ship finally, she spotted her group, the only one not beginning to disperse, and hurried over. "Hey, sorry I took so long," she apologized humbly.
Hopefully Wolf would be right behind her...But this was exciting! A whole jungle to explore, a lost play to find--and her friends with her--it'd be great!

Tramping carefully through the jungle not far behind Sophie came Wolf, a little less moody than he'd been before but not exactly a ray of sunshine either. He kept his eyes to the ground and remained completely silent as he approached the group.
In preparation for the warm weather he'd dressed in the lightest cotton shirt he had with a tank top underneath just in case even the light shirt got uncomfortable. He'd hidden a old, long hunting knife in one boot just in case. He didn't normally carry weapons but this wasn't exactly a normal situation.

When the first member of his group had arrived, he gave her a smile and a small bow. As she looked off, Kurt heard the familiar bundle of chaos quickly running up to meet them as well.
"You're not late Haruhi, we're still waiting on a few others." He smiled at her as she yelled to their doctor and then glanced back at the ship. It was a few minutes but the last two finally came to meet them. He didn't bother to ask about the hold up, he had some idea considering the earlier fiasco. Few things skipped past his eyes, being the captain and all.

"I'm ready!" Yuna replied cheerfully over at the captain more than ready to get this adventure going. Judging by the other three teammates who just arrived they where just as excited as she is, especially the girl with the little yellow ribbons in her hair. Glancing over at that large backpack that the girl is carrying, Yuna began to wonder if maybe she packed too lightly for this journey. The only things that Yuna thought to take with her is a bottle of water, her journal, a few bandages and antiseptic in case anyone gets hurt along the way. She carried these items in her pink and white purse that she slung over her shoulder.
"Are you going to need help with that?" Yuna asked Haruhi worried that the other may have packed too many things for their expedition.

"I'm definitely ready, Captain!" Haruhi said, giving him a stern salute. However, she wasn't able to contain it for long as her face broke out in a smile. "This is going to be great! I'm so excited!" She had noticed as Sophie and that other guy had arrived too, but she didn't pay them much mind. Still, now that they were here they could leave! Onward to adventure!
When the girl next to her began to speak, Haruhi finally turned her attention toward her. Ah, she hadn't met this person yet, had she? The Way had been getting lots of new people lately. Alright Haruhi had to make it a personal mission to get to know every single one of them, whether they liked it or not!
"It's fine!" She replied, waving the girl off, "This is nothing to a seasoned adventurer!" Of course, Haruhi wasn't exactly a seasoned adventurer, but this girl didn't know that!
What did she have in there? Oh, Haruhi had been dying for someone to ask that question. She puffed herself up a bit as she went through her checklist, "Oh, it's all the essentials! First Aid

"Yes sir, ready to go!" Phew, he didn't mention anything. She turned her excited smile on Wolf, the expression softening just a little.
Sophie stared uncertainly at Haruhi, slightly taken aback by her list. "Are you sure you really...need all that stuff?. We'll not be very far from the ship, after all."
Then again, Sophie wasn't exactly known for being over-prepared, to put it mildly. Other than the frying pan, the only things she'd brought with her were a bottle of water, her journal, and a few little snacks.

Wolf really wished he could be cheerful and excited with everyone else but he just wasn't feeling it. He stayed close to Sophie and gave her a very weak half-smile in response to hers.
Re: Group Captain! Heading North; North EastadligenOctober 15 2008, 01:25:31 UTC
Kurt smiled brightly at them all and turned his gaze on the jungle. Ah, just like the good old days, yes? Roughing it out in the wild, not knowing what was in store the moment you stepped through that brush. There wasn't mch that could upset the Captains mood right now.
"Then, move out!" Kurt said almost too excitedly. He began to push his way through the start of the jungle, glancing back every once in a while to make sure his party was still behind him.
Re: Group Captain! Heading North; North Eastwhite_hymnOctober 15 2008, 03:40:39 UTC
She chuckled lightly at the girl, thankful that someone was clever enough to think of bringing a flashlight and some food with them for the trek. Judging by how dark and dense the jungles are, Yuna suspected it would take them a few hours to trek through this area. The gunner was of course worried that they would lose contact with the other teams that are exploring nearby because of the low frequency here. Eventually the journals will give out if they spread too far away from the Way, a vista that Yuna hopes will not make this journey through Kagatau even harder

"Of course!" Haruhi shot back at Sophie, "You never know when this stuff might come in handy! Better to be safe than dead!" Hm, somehow she thought she was getting that saying a bit wrong, but it got her point across well enough. "Besides, this is this sort of stuff a real adventurer carries." She grinned and nodded to herself. Yup, she was definitely a real adventurer now.
"Yeah, let's go!" she yelled as Kurt gave the go-ahead. She jogged up to Yuna's side, since she seemed to be the most excited next to herself and the captain. "I'm Haruhi!" she beamed, "So, you're Rikku's cousin, huh?" She gave the girl a hard look, appraising her. "Well, I guess I can kind of see it. Maybe."
Re: Group Captain! Heading North; North EastmadhattersophieOctober 16 2008, 18:08:42 UTC
Sophie's only response to Haruhi's insistence was a midlly skeptical look, but she let it go for now.
Falling into step behind the girls, Sophie tromped along silently, half listening to Yuna and Haruhi's conversation (she was nosy, after all, it was in her nature) and half convincing herself not to worry too much about Wolf and his silence. He had warned her, after all, that he would be like this.
But perhaps...With a grin that might have given her away, had anyone been paying attention, Sophie began to plot, watching the jungle around her as they trudged through.
Re: Group Captain! Heading North; North Easthuffpuff_wolfieOctober 19 2008, 10:13:03 UTC
The cheer and energy from his crewmates only drove Wolf deeper into his quiet solitude. He wished he could be cheerful with them and enjoy himself but the motivation just wasn't there. He especially wished he could be enthusiastic for Sophie's sake. She'd wanted to go on this adventure so badly, and with him no less. He owed it to her. Still, he felt that faking it would be worse than what he was already doing so there was nothing for it but to keep trudging on and hope the day got better.

Obviously, Sonic had taken far too much time in the bathroom. He always assumed that no matter how long he took, he'd catch up because of his super speed... but this time, he took a little TOO long. Fixing up some late projects regarding his carpenter work, and then making sure he was all prepared for the treasure hunt... And by the time he'd cleaned up some, he'd received word from another crew member that the Captain's team had already headed off
