Thanks to the cunning (and not so cunning) efforts of the impromptu
hostage negotiation team, the Amestris' murderer was captured and detained. The woman, who previously identified herself as Delores Clark, is surprisingly cooperative. In fact, she confesses to nearly everything...albeit in a melodramatic fashion. Othar might be proud, if she wasn't an evil fiend.
In her words, she claims to really be Sheila de Argentine, famed assassin and heir to the great Zaroshi tradition! A bit of quick fact finding will turn up her real name (Jane Baker) and the fact that Zaroshi is merely an obscure anti-hero from an old radio show based on a series of out of print pulp novels. Basically, think of a darker and edgier Zorro for hire. However, while she's not exactly famed, the exploits she's bragged about can be traced to various missing persons cases around Vohemar over the past five years. As for her role, here's what she has to say:
She was hired by a client to sneak on board the ship and send a message to those old, corrupt fools in the mayor's office. With this noble mission in mind, she bravely boarded the Amestris to do her dark work. The details of the plan were left to her (such as disguising herself as a reporter who was disguising herself as a mechanic; cunning, no?), but one thing was clear: somebody connected to them had to die. So, in her disguise-in-a-disguise, she sneaked on board and on top of the roof for the fireworks show, where she saw one of the workers hired specifically the performance. She did quick work of him and then shimmied down, prepared to escape...
And she would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for that meddling kid!
That's all for her information. She'll continue to brag about her past exploits, rage if her real name is brought up ("It's so...dull!"), and she'll gladly tell you all there is to know about the Zaroshi tradition. She'll even apologize for stealing Lea's thunder, though not for nearly slitting Isa's throat. However, there's one thing she will not reveal: due to her ideas of professionalism, she won't reveal any specific information about her client or the time he hired her. People might be able to trick her into giving a rough date, though.
Unfortunately, there's not much time for an in depth investigation. Soon after word of the performance spreads, the Bydan authorities will request that she be taken into their custody. After all, it's their city and their officials she tried to mess with, which makes her their murderer.
As always, questions and comments go here.
(And don't worry, for those wondering about Antrim shenanigans, the Amestris isn't going to be left out. ♥ Keep an eye on your f-list for further updates on that.)
