Personality

FIVE PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Romantic, Sincere, Gullible, Fragile, Energetic

Despite everything he's seen, Gideon remains a wide eyed country boy at heart. He takes a lot of things at face value and is an absolutely terrible liar. He can be more than a little naive, and it gets him in to trouble sometimes. He has what seems like unlimited energy, and though a lifetime with Hemophilia has taught him a little caution he still tends to rush headlong into things without thinking of the consequences. He loves passionately and freely.

Faction

FACTION: Statera
REASONING: Gideons mother is a muggle, so he wasn't about to join any faction that would want to kill her or any of his muggle family. Two if his brothers are also squibs. Luckily Myron felt the same way, because it would have been a really brutal choice if Myron chose Ferox.
SKILLS: Gideon plays bagpipes, keyboard, according and bodhran. He also writes maudlin lyrics, even if he can't sing a note. He has always been a dab hand at potions as well, which translates well to making drinks.
OCCUPATION: Bartender, Saints and Sinners
RESIDENCE: TBD

History

Describe 2-3 significant events in your character's life.

Growing up on the Road
Gideon was born the eighth of eleven children. His mother was a muggle and his father a wizard, and most of his siblings had magic as well. Boyd and Aileen Crumb were well known Scottish folk singers, and as soon as their children could pick up an instrument the joined the band. The Crumb Family Singers toured all of the UK and much of Europe, never really settling down anywhere. Gideon took to the life quite well, and could play the bodhran before he could talk.

When he was just a wee lad, barely toddling around, he tripped and fell down a hill while chasing after his brothers. This should have been no big deal, but the scrapes on his palms and knees never stopped bleeding. They took him to St. Mungos, but the standard episkey didn't work, and only a mixture of potions and more advanced spells could stop the bleeding. The Healers hadn't seen this before, and Aileen insisted on taking her son to a muggle doctor. She made the right call, and they diagnosed him with Hemophilia A. He was given some medication to treat it, and learned some spells to aid in faster clotting. But for the rest of his life he would suffer from nosebleeds, headaches, spontaneaus bleeding in his joints, and the inability to stop bleeding on his own.

His mother did her best to keep him safe, but with such a large family she couldn't always watch him, and Gideon was an adventurous boy at heart. So it seemed like he was always about to die for a good portion of his childhood.

Because the Crumb Family Band was always on the road Aileen took it upon herself to teach her children their letters and numbers, and Boyd undertook their magical education. It wasn't as extensive as Hogwarts, but he knew enough to pass his OWLS.

The Weird Sisters
Gid was in a small town in Holden when he first heard the Weird Sisters play. He was instantly enamoured of their music, something so incredibly different from the salt of the earth stuff he played with his family. He was also instantly enamoured of the lead singer, and after the concert he made his bashful, way up to the man to gush appropriately about how brilliant it had all been. Something about Gideons sincerity and earnestness must have spoken to Myron, because before Gid knew it he was going back to the rockers hotel room. Somewhere between several bouts of intense physical pleasure Gid mentioned that he was in a band too, and much to his surprise Myron actually came to see them play the next night! Another night together found Myron and Gideon sharing their musicals passions, among other passions, and suddenly Gid found himself agreeing to leave the family band to play bagpipes and and keyboard for the Sisters. The rest, as they say, is history.
