OOH, I will get a chance to start it all again new! A few confessions -- I really like Strangetown. I can't get away from it. I love the desert theme. I set all the seasons on "summer" I love playing with aliens. I like the maxis characters from this neighborhood. Blasphemy, I know. But I do. I love the summer/desert themed lots I've collected and I look for more. I'm just getting into playing Uni now, and that's gotten me into using some of the Freetime hobbies more, too.
Everyone once in a while I think I ought to start from bare bones bottom, with all the no regen hacks, and customizing all the townies, etc. But I don't actually know if that would increase my enjoyment. I actually like adopting the generated characters, and marrying them, and impregnating them, etc. I usually improve them cosmetically too. I actually enjoy some of them better than sims I created on my own. I know, that must make me so wierd.
At first I was very anti-cc, anti-hacks -- but I've warmed up to them, and there are some I wouldn't play without now.
I have to admit I played NL for soooo long, I am definitely underusing the benefits of the later EP's. I have all the EP's and all the SP's now. And can pretty much lay my hands on any cc I want.
How do you like to play? What's your favorite way of setting up a new install when you switch computers (if you don't bring your old files along for the ride?) What cc/hacks can you not live without?
Once in a while I toss around the idea of making an all Medieval world, or a LOTR-based one, where I can indulge in elves and other magical creature sims. But that seems like a LOOOOT of work, and I'm not sure I'd like it any more than I like playing the ready made neighborhoods.
I also stink at building houses and designing neighborhoods. As futzy as some of the maxis hoods are, they play better than ones I made. Very frustrating.
Anyways, talk to me about your simming while I wait and plan for the new machine!
