Women always seem to have huge shopping lists when it comes to attaining the perfect partner, be it male or female. I always looked for the following:
- Honesty
- Respect for me and for others
- A good sense of humour
- Shares some of my same interests, hobbies, or activities
- Treats me as an equal
Trevor is all this and more... except he could use some work in the honesty department when it comes to finances... *eyeroll*
Now for a life update. Trev started his new job at Pusateri's on Monday, and he's getting five 8 1/2 hour shifts every week! In six months he will receive full benefits which I can share in (excellent, because I need dental work!). After his training shifts, which are $10.75 an hour, he'll be getting $11 an hour.
It's really weird to not have him here during the day. After nearly four whole months of him being unemployed, except for those measly three days at Dolce, I got really used to him being around. Largely, this is good. We enjoy being together as much as possible, but it feels good to have time to myself and to feel like a separate unit again.
My mom is progressing, slowly but surely. The first three days after her surgery were really difficult for her, because her mind was in a thick fog and she was very confused and had no idea what was going on. But once the fog cleared she was like, "Holy crap, I'm alive!!". The first day, her kidney function was poor and she was experiencing dangerous heart speeds and irregular beats, so they had to put her on medications to correct all that. Now those are back to normal, but all the other meds she's on have made her magnesium and potassium levels bottom out, so she's been on IV drips for that. Right now the most challenging task for her is walking.
Debbie hasn't updated me since Saturday, but I'm assuming that no news is good news. She's in the middle of packing up to move her family out of that falling-apart mess on the mountain to a nice rental in Bedford.
On Saturday, we went with Jeff G. to the flea market in Stouffville. The inside part wasn't anywhere near as good as it had been three years ago, but the local foods area was great and the outdoor area was one giant garage sale. I bought some craft supplies and a really nice crochet book for $5 altogether.
I turned 28 on Sunday. What?? When did that happen? I swear I just turned 18! We had a nice dinner at Trevor's grandparents' place, followed by a very fudgey chocolate cake. Neomi and Jeff got me a gift card that's good for several malls around here, including Promenade, Fairview, and the Eaton Centre. Elisa's giving me cash when she gets paid this Friday. :)
I think that's all for now! Have a great day, lovelies!
