Vacation, then more vacation
At work, we get to only carry over 40 hours at the end of Januaray to the next work year. So, I get to take a day off next week for my vacation. I end up losing a lot of vacation, but long story short - that was due to poor planning from earlier this year.
Work has been a flurry of activity due to the announcement of layoffs. I've also read some harsh criticism. I suppose if things continue, I won't be "losing" much vacation at all.
In other news, I taught my first class on Friday. It went pretty smooth. Since the class is required for all employees, the best benefit from the class is the opportunity to network with a lot of people.
I slept most of the weekend since last week was a lot of planning and preparation. I feel much better today. Too bad I have to VPN into work tomorrow - it'd be nice to sleep in again.
