Had a long weekend of moving my roommate's stuff. Soon, the other furniture will be arriving probably next week. After that, the place will start to feel like a really big home as opposed to feeling like I'm living the dorm life.
In short, I watch too much TV and play too many video games. As for the details...
I beat FFXI a few days ago. The ending was so-so. It wasn't really lame, but it wasn't that great either. Fundamentally, they had too many main characters. They should've just focused on a few. If they focused the story on Ashe and Basch, the story probably would've been more coherent. Also, it would've been nice to actually have to FLY an airship. Instead, they were used as fancy teleport cyrstals. Ah well, it looked like fun in the cutscenes...
Apprentice this season hasn't appealed to me. Not having George's insight bothers me. The whole thing where the winning team has to sleep outside makes it feel like a combination of Survivor and Apprentice and the two really shouldn't have mixed.
Caught an episode of Ninja Warrior. Glad to see the Fisherman guy win the competition. I think it's crazy that he beat tons of professional athletes. Still, most of the challenges are all arms. The 19 year old professional trampoline guy is pretty cool too. What's interesting in these competitions is all the contestants are cheering for each other. And, competitors are clearly disheartened when they see one of their colleagues fail.
The Office episodes have been pretty decent. The sales call episode reminded me of my old Bodacion days.
From time to time, I'll catch Top Chef. This is another show which has similar camaraderie like Ninja Warrior. Of course, there's wayy more drama (perhaps unnecessarily) in Top Chef. Still, it reminds me of a bunch of programmers and their work. Some of the points made on the show point out that my cooking pretty much violates many Cooking 101 basics. I have much to learn in this area.
