Turns out, my (old) computer isn't totally dead. The hard drive, now that it's been put into another computer, is alive and kicking. Which means...I can save all of my old data. I'm so relieved. I mean, I'd hate to lose that paper I wrote for Biochemistry. Or the list of books we donated to the library last year. Seriously, there were a few CDs, a few podcasts, a few Audible downloads, a few photos, and some knitting patterns on my old computer. What a treasure trove. Haha. I guess it's just another illustration of my mental breakdown in the past two years. Here's to hoping that there are more interesting things on this lovely new computer (with my RED mouse).
Also, my Ehrlich paper received an A, which makes me happy. Actually, I don't care about the grade so much because I had so much fun writing it. I read Microbe Hunters with Mrs. Martinelli; I knew Ehrlich was exciting. But I didn't know quite how exciting he was. Amazing. Immunology, chemotherapy, antibiotics, hematology, biochemistry, GENIUS, I tell you. He's my idol.
I just took my first History of Science exam, which covered the first section of the course--physics and astronomy. I wrote lots and lots about Kuhnian ideas (framework for the course) and Newton (another all-around genius, if a bit crazy) and heliocentricity and calculus and the Aristotelian Universe and Kepler's Laws and Galileo and John Harrison. Well, actually, I first wrote about George Harrison and then had to go back and fix my mistake. Oops. Up next: Chemistry (in class) and the Flexnor report (project). Fun.
Up next in general: make some (any!) progress on Tomato; Lisa tomorrow; post-bacc applications; edit Connor's second chapter; er...and various other life-improving plans.
