They were in there again.
Riku scowled to himself as he snuck into the cave, hoping they wouldn’t notice. But they were doing it again. Sora and Kairi always would sneak off and play in the cave, the cave that once both Riku and Sora would explore, long before Kairi had even arrived to the islands.
The three of them were friends, but lately, it seemed as if they were excluding poor Riku.
Continuing to glare at their backs, Riku crept behind them as they were…what were they doing?
Drawing pictures on the wall? Riku almost scoffed, but then he realized what they were drawing, and he felt his heart stop. Are they actually drawing each other?
Kairi, after finishing her artwork, leaned back and smiled at it. Sora grinned in retribution, and the red haired girl leaned to her friend, whispering into his ear. He nodded with a smile, and they both hopped up, hand in hand and rushed out of the cave past Riku…
Without even noticing him.
Riku felt his spirits drop faster than a stone in a lake. He shuffled into the cave and fingered the pictures. Sure, Sora’s was horrible at best, but why couldn’t Sora do something like this for him?
‘Sora…’ Riku frowned, before hitting the wall with all his might, and receiving nothing but a bruised hand and ego. ‘I wish I could tell you…’
