Weird little thing

At the mill tonight, I was getting ready to leave with a few deliveries and I was in a spot where I could pretty clearly hear the mariachi music the mexican cooks had on their boombox in the kitchen and the music piped in the cafe for customers, which was the U2 song, "With or Without You." I noticed that the beat of both songs seemed to be in sync with each other, but usually when you hear something like that, the tempo isn't quite the same and they come out of alignment in a few measures. Not in this case. They were perfectly lined up and it stayed, the mellow groove of the U2 song with the "tum, ticka-tum, ticka-tum" of the mariachi rythm section adding an interesting accent underneath it. I'm not really a U2 fan, but the way these two contrasted but blended was fascinating. My deliveries were bagged up and ready, but I was strangely compelled to stand there and listen for another minute, and I pointed it out to a couple other employees, too.
