Couldn't we just kill these demons and not have to worry whether or not we negotiated with whatever the hell Gunn was trying to negotiated with them. Grox'lars were never demons I ever wanted to be associated with even as the head of Wolfram and Hart. Though apparently, we were trying to come to some sort of compromise. Eat babies or don't eat babies? How about I kill the clan here in LA and we didn't have to worry about this any longer?

"Angel?"

Jerking my head up to look at Gunn, I blinked. What? "What? Oh, right. Yes. That sounds.."

"You approve of supplying the Grox'lars with their demands and then they'll agree not to continue eating infants?"

Staring at Gunn, I had no idea what these actual demands he was talking about. Gunn gave me a look and nodded to the sheet of paper sitting in front of me. Sitting up, I looked down at the list on the table in front of me. Reading over the list, I raised a brow at several of these 'demands' but nodded with a small shrug over at Gunn then looked at the Grox'lar. "Right. Sure. We supply these 'demands' of your's and no more eating babies?"

The Grox'lar looked to Gunn and he somehow was able to translate what I said into whatever language these things speak. It acted agreeable and I sunk down a bit in my chair again. Good, one meeting down for today. What was next on the agenda? Negotiate with my own employees to get rid of the ritual sacrificing department for good even though I'd already done my best to sweep out that part of the building? Right.

Just as the meeting or whatever the hell this was started to wrap up, I looked up see Harmony's head pop through the door. Giving her a look, I raised a brow. "Yes, Harmony?" As much as I didn't want to have Harmony tell me I had a phone call with another one of our clients, I'd actually be somewhat alright with the getting called out of this meeting.

"Boss? Yeah, you've got a phone call." I got a look from Gunn who acted like this was more important than any phone call I could be taking right now.

"Can you just take a message, Harmony? I'm in the middle of something here." I sighed and pretended to pay attention to what the Grox'lar was saying.

"Um. But-" I just looked back over at her again. "It's the hospital." Stopping, I looked at her, but less annoyed. "She's awake."

Half an hour later and ignoring Harmony's insistence that she wasn't actually there anymore, I took one of my twelve cars and sped over to the hospital. Cordelia was awake. I probably should've said more to Gunn, Fred, and Lorne and not to mention Wesley but I didn't want to wait. I had to see her. Well, see her when she was awake. It'd been almost a week since my last visit to the hospital. I'd hold her hand, talk to her about what was going on and how she should've been there to help me and us through it all. I even told her about the deal I'd made with Wolfram and Hart and what happened to Connor.. and where he was now.

Despite the fact I'd lived for over two hundred and fifty years the time Cordelia had been in her coma seemed like an eternity and every time I visited her room it got even longer. And now? Now after waiting all these months to see her facing looking up at me, awake, from that bed?

"What do you mean she's not here?" I half yelled back at the nurse who sat behind the counter. She winced at my tone and tried to look anywhere but right at me. I slammed my fist down on the counter and shook my head. Weren't instructions to 'keep Cordelia here and in bed until she was ready to leave and not until I saw she was alright' enough to I don't know, keep someone here?

The nurse looked timidly back at me, now standing. "I-, sir from what I was told she insisted on leaving and I-"

"She insisted on leaving and you still let her go?" My god, how many patients a day did they have that insisted on leaving but stayed here in their beds anyway? Probably half of the people here. Then again half of the people here weren't Cordelia Chase. Before letting the nurse answer who was still stammering out a response, I walked away in a huff and headed towards Cordelia's room.

Who was I kidding? If Cordelia wanted to get out of this place, she'd find a way. Once I entered the now empty room, I stopped just inside the doorway and stared at the ruffled sheets that hadn't even been changed yet. A few picture frames sat around on the tables all of which were people now working for who she thought was the enemy. There were pictures of all of us.. minus one. No, one person who wasn't in those pictures was the one who should've been.

Shaking my head, I walked over to the bed and started to pull up the sheets from the end of the bed. There was one place Cordelia would've gone when she left this place and that was one place I don't think I was ready to face again. Not the rooms and not the memories.
