Strengths/Weaknesses: Alfred’s good at sharing his moods. He’s a clown when he’s happy and a little kid when he’s sad. He shares all of his strengths and tries to keep all of his weaknesses in check.
Some of his strengths are that he can think on his feet in battle situations, and knows what his pokemon are good at. He trains them himself on a diet of the best tasting pokeblocks (not necessarily the healthiest), TLC, and muscle work. They’re loyal to each other, and it shows. Other personal strengths of Alfred is that he’s generally fairly muscular, he can make light of most situations if he sees it, he sees beauty in life others choose to ignore, and he’s compassionate to those in need of help.
He can’t not help someone in need, whether it be a meowth stuck in a tree or the rocket grunt who’s passed out in the road. Some call this a weakness, but he doesn’t see it this way. So what if he cares for others, and wants a peaceful world? Alfred knows that sometimes war will bring peace. He’s obsessed with his pokemon journey now, and of defeating Team Rocket and restoring the region back to how he imagined it had to be at one time: happy.
Alfred fails at getting out of deep blue funks. He can be super moody when his blood sugar is low and he needs a pick-me-up cheeseburger. Deeper than that, Alfred lets his own heroism get in the way, ending up in life-threatening situations because he tried to help someone out or making enemies when he tells someone what they’re doing is Wrong.
His biggest fear is ending up alone. No friends. No Pokemon. He needs others, to protect and shower with love and affection. Without it, he’s just a Red Giant waiting to implode in out itself. He’s also very afraid he’s going to be a bad trainer and hurt his pokemon, which sometimes hinders him in heated battles and makes him withdraw.
Alfred can’t give up on his dreams.

Pokemon
Starter: A pikachu with a penchant for being just as hyper as him and running off (not out of hatred for Alfred, but because it’s a space case) named Tony. I know, I know: Typical pikachu. Then again, that’s why I love the image of Alfred with a pikachu - it’s that image we all know and love of a boy and his pikachu. In his own series, Alfred’s pegged as the typical hero guy, the ultimate feel good protagonist. He’s a little slow and bad with the ladies, speaks before he thinks, gets up to shenanigans and pisses people off, but you end up cheering for him (well, that is, if you find his outrageousness affable). Pikachu would be perfect for him simply because he’s the hero of his own life, and what young Pokemon hero is complete without that adorable electric mouse? They’d be a high energy couple, though Alfred wouldn’t quite be up for the electric shocks like Ash was. Alfred would take care of his pikachu and never let it around water (“TONY, TONY, SERIOUSLY, YOU’RE LIKE A TOASTER, GET BACK HERE”) and try his best to keep it safe. His pikachu would be his number one fan, and vice versa, and it’d always be the one thing Alfred knew he had to, and could, actually protect.
I’d really love to play Alfred with a pikachu for all those reason~ If I need to write more, please notify me.

Samples
(Please note that both samples must take place in Route_29’s setting.)

First Person Sample: Tony, I swear, you can’t run off anymore, okay? It’s really dangerous and I-... I don’t want to lose you. I told you not to go around water. -picks up the exhausted looking pikachu and sets it in his lap, running his hand over its mused yellow and brown striped back, thinking about what a horrible trainer and hero he would be if he ever let Tony hurt itself-

It isn’t that I don’t think you’re smart. You totally are, bro. You’re like, the coolest pokemon in the world. -Tony looks up and blinks its brown eyes open, looking almost amused. Alfred smiles at it, and continues to pet it- You totes are the best. But like, I just don’t think it’s safe. Back in the real world, or whatever, like, I wouldn’t want to put a lightbulb in a bathtub. And that’s just how it is.

-Tony makes a soft ‘pika’ noise and Alfred almost tears up a bit- I know you understand. I love you, man. -turns off their camp light and sets Tony to the side of his sleeping bag in the tinier clone he’d made- G’night, sleep tight, don’t let the caterpies bite. -smiles and drifts up to sleep-

Third Person Sample: Eyes blinked open, sleep washed away. It was time for another day. Alfred stretched awake and sat up, hands a size too big to his body rubbing the sleep away from his eyes. “Ahhh, time to go to another meeting and face that stupid Brit,” He mumbled and swept off his covers.
Which were made of cotton.
Alfred had never slept with cotton quilts on his bed.
Suspicion and fear rose in his throat, thick as the fabric fiber that betrayed him. Okay, so he’d been kidnapped. It was cool. He’d defeated the Soviets and Charlie in Nam, he could do this shit.
“Be cool, old boy, be cool,” He whispered to himself. He stuttered as he looked down. The quilt had a wacko pattern on it, looking like some crop circle, and the sheets had a pattern of red and white balls. With a quick look outside, Al saw that it was unlike anything he’d ever seen. Weird crop circle patterned quilt, new place? There was only one answer here, and it almost made him shiver with happiness. Oh, what the hell, Alfred shivered, a huge smile cracking across his face.
Alfred had finally been abducted by aliens!
‘This is the coolest thing that has EVER happened to ANYONE and when I get back home I’m going to RUB IT IN ARTHUR’S FACE,’ The blonde boy thought as he squeezed his eyes shut with excitement, lifting ups his arms to his side, fists shut, and doing a tiny little victory dance. He then spent the next minute wiggling out of the bed and studying the map framed on the alien room wall. A thumbtack was pressed to one of the many dots on the map, right above the tiny printed script saying ‘New Bark Town’. New Bark Town? He’d never heard of it. And Alfred knew he knew geography, so he couldn’t be in the world he knew anymore, and it was so awesome and he was going to be the best new hero OF THE GALAXY and when the aliens saw him he was going to become their best friend ever and teach him how to be a Jedi, and his lightsaber skills would be so good then they’d make him the alien president and he’d go back to Earth and people would be like, whoa this dude is so badass and he’s American so that makes America the best place to be and then America would love him and the aliens would love him and all the wars EVER, would just be like, “we need to stop fighting” and Alfred would be like “I just stopped war.” Totally cool.
“I guess I’m here,” He said, each word laced with joy, and glanced left and right. Stairs? Stairs! He’d take them, and go meet the aliens! “I’m comin’, Tony!” He said to his old imaginary alien friend, and ran to the stairs, greeting this new, mysterious life with his best foot forward.

Before we make our final decision on your application, we would like a new first person sample as the one you have submitted reads like another third person sample. We would also like to express that spacing out your paragraphs makes it easier for us to read <3.

A note we would like to add: If we decide to accept you, America may have a Pikachu.

You will have one week to complete these requests at maximum before the character is up for grabs again.

[ Alfred and a bug trainer are in a small clearing in a forest, eyes locked ]

Okay bug-trainer dweeb! Get ready to have your world rocked by the two coolest bros ever, me and Tony! I know you think you're gonna win -- stop even trying now. You might as well just hand over the money and get on with it. Because we've been training for days out here in the forest and I've seen everything from a metapod to a beedrill, and lemme tell you what's what... I beat them all! HA! So... uh...

[ trying to think up an awesome line to say at the end of his speech ]

... Get ready for the electric feel! [ grins from ear to ear ]

[ Alfred whips out his favorite pokéball ever. It has doodles over lightning and stars all over it. He throws the ball into the center of the clearing, and it a moment, white light pours out and a small, cute pikachu jumps out, already bristling with electricity ] YEAHH! Tony, lookin' sharp! Get ready to cry, buggy boy! LET'S GO, THUNDERBOLT!

We’re sorry, but we cannot accept your application at this time. Your first person sample still reads as a third person prose entry, rather than an action entry. Feel free to apply again as many times as you would like.
