overheard at work today:
Teacher (to docent): We've been studying the place where this piece of art comes from.
Docent (to class): what place have you been studying? . . .Africa!
Everyone: Africa!
Docent (motioning to map): Now I don't know where the tribe this came from lives specifically in Africa, but if you look on this map you will see where we live - right here in Maryland. And if you look down here you will see Mexico and the Caribbean Islands . . . and right below that is Africa (motioning to South America).
She went on talking, but I was in shock, and the teacher and the chaperone shared a Look.
