And my naughty Thales. You can finally see the shimmer in his faceup. :D
Ok, so it may not be a big deal to anyone else, but while I really like my 50mm, f/1.7 lens that I usually use for dollie photos, it's always killed me that I couldn't get all up in my dolls' faces for pics. :B I dunno, I just like to get up close for photos! I had a minimal focusing distance of close to two feet, which isn't too bad, but with a fixed focal length lens, that meant I couldn't zoom up closer to get faceup details, or things like, tight hand shots, unless I just wanted to crop the image later.
But now, I've finally got a real macro! 8D It's a Sigma 50mm, f/2.8. It had slightly lower reviews than the Sony brand one, but still really good, and it was a lot cheaper. XB So far, I'm in total love! I've really missed being able to get in close like I could with my old p&s camera. I do notice the aperture difference, and that I need to either up my ISO or lower my shutter speed to get the same amount of light that I could with the f/1.7, but it's still nice and wide, and a ton better than my kit zoom lens, that only has a minimum of f/3.5 when I'm zoomed all the way out at 18mm. x_x
Anyways, I was just doing a bit of fooling around so far, but I'm looking forward to doing actual photoshoots with this lens! So excited!! :D
