Last weekend I saw a terrific play "Wiley and the Harryman"
its a show not done very frequently. I highly recommend it. there was a jug band to open up the show... they did a great cover of "house on the rising sun" by far one of my favorite songs...even though i relate very little to the lyrics. I still love the soul in the song. I know the Leadbelly wrote the song, but i still find myself favorable to the Animals version. I think its the keys in the song, really great solo.
no one really listens to music like this in hawaii unless you are from the mainland. its not "cruize" enough.
i have a week left of hawaii and I am desperately looking forward to going home. Don't mistake this anticipation as Island Fever.
This is what miss.
A balance between being laid back and outgoing. Everyone here is sooo cruize. It's hard to count on making any sort of plans unless you know EVERYONE is doing something. However those kind of scenes can be a huge turn off. So people cat out on those kinds of things as well.
Cooler weather. Sometimes i take a shower right before i go to bed so i have the illusion of feeling cold when i lie down in front of a fan. My only complaint really about hot weather is how it effects my sleep. At home when its cool and foggy in the mornings, i love to sleep in. Though i won't be sleeping in too often this summer, I plan on going to bed early and waking up early.
Dog. enough said. My old roomates have a new full bred american bull dog. Hes 8 weeks old and weighs over 20 pounds ! fucking HUGE and very cute...not for long lol. As much as puppies are fun, i miss just chilling with Idgie and petting her. What a good ol blind dog.
I miss close friends and family. I realize how tolerant they are of my behavior, Thank you for those who demonstrate patience. These people are reliable for the most part. Although they are equally flaky for the most part as my friends in hawaii, its easier to cat out in paradise. YAH FEEL ME?
Food. Im out of money. I can't afford things like salads, juice, fresh fruit, Real mexican food. Although I did make a ton of killer burrito mean tues and wed with chris,
I mentioned music earlier. Tired of Collie buds and local island reggae and lil wayne. Thank god for pandora.
IM coming back to hawaii in august. i am looking forward to it. However, the biggest issue is im broke and im tired of being a student. Thank god the semester is almost over.
