Yes, you definitely can just keep going on and on with it since things are far from perfect, but I still think it's important to draw the line somewhere. My taking part in an ad campaign that that I feel is using some shallow tactics to appeal to a potential market is basically me saying, "Look, these people will do anything to make a buck, and hey, so will I!".
While the public school system is far from perfect, the root of this "far from perfection" has more to do with a system that places more money and power in the hands of large corporations and the military, than in it's educational system.
Keep 'em dumb, that way they'll just eat this bullshit up!
I would rather add potentially life enriching mural programs to a weak and flawed educational system than to use my artwork to help a multi-billion dollar corporation appeal to people's sense of what's "hip" in order to sell even more of their already omnipresent product-which in turn can teach kids that everyone can be bought and all that really matters is that you're getting paid.
It's a super flawed system and I know that my artistic existence still involves some degree of compromise, but I've just gotta choose the battles that I feel are most significant.

Thanks for sticking that needle in me again concerning the party "exclusion", good to know that I'll never be forgiven for that. I've actually heard that forgiveness is golden...this feels a bit more like golden shower.
:P
Sorry I couldn't make it to your party. I had friends that came into town this weekend so we spent some time catching up. Sounds like you had a good time even without me there! Thanks for the invite!

I dunno. We all draw our lines in the sand based on what spirit tells us to do.

I hear you and I think I pretty much acknowledged everything you said.

Anyway, so sorry that you think I'm taking a piss on you. On my boyfriend, sure. But you? Never!
