One year
Wow, so apparently the last time I posted was exactly one year ago today. I can't believe it's been that long - and if you had asked me in 2010 whether I would ever go a full year without posting to LJ (much less writing fic) - and letting my paid account lapse! - I would have sworn it would never happen. Yikes.
But now it's 2015, and as I was trying to think of some New Year's resolutions, one that came to mind is to try to write something - anything - in 2015. Could be fic (though it would probably have to be with the expectation that no one would read it, since no new fandoms have caught my fancy), or possibly something "original" (AKA it would obviously be Pinto in my mind but I would attempt to write it so no one would know that ;-) All of my "original" ideas are basically fics I never got around to writing.
Along those lines - I know about Dreamspinner, but do you have any recommendations for any other similar places where I could submit stories?
I've been having a somewhat renewed interest in ZQ and Chris Pine these days. Obviously I saw Into the Woods and the Agony scene made my life. It was so glorious, like the cover of a romance novel come to life as a musical starring Chris Pine. I went with a bunch of friends and afterwards they were like "The best part of that scene was watching you writhe around in your seat." Truth.
And for some reason I've had a few very pleasant dreams about Zachary Quinto recently. No idea why, but I'm not complaining! I hate reading about peoples' dreams, but I'm going to be a hypocrite here and tell you about one of them - I was at some kind of conference where you could meet / talk to Zach...we went to a park full of trees and he was pushing me on a swing (??) and I went really high, then looked back and upside down at Zach and saw him upside down far behind me surrounded by trees and thought "This would make an amazing artistic photo." Um. WTF, brain?
Anyway, besides some slight yearning for the past days of Pinto and feeling almost inspired to write again, my non-working life is pretty much occupied by hanging out with my sweet baby girl who is less baby and more toddler every day. She's not quite walking yet at 14 months, but almost, and in the meantime she's climbing on the table, eating spaghetti with her hands, laughing and exploring and goofing around, and being a total mommy's girl, much to Dan's dismay!
Thinking about going down the rabbit hole of tumblr/Instagram/Twitter again in 2015...though maybe rational thought will win out and I won't do it, ha ha! Anyway, I'll let you know if I do. I still read LJ so if you're posting, I'm reading it, even if I never comment!
