Beta: eph_inspiration
A/N: Thanks to ditta_spn  for helping me out as well :)

Sam leaned against the door frame, watching with a smile as Castiel took his first sip of eggnog. Over the past few years, there hadn’t exactly been time for Christmas, not even for the type of Christmas that the Winchesters had always had. But this year, finally, things were different.

Out of all of them, it had been Dean who had most looked forward to the holiday, something that had come as a bit of a shock to Sam. He remembered Christmases in the past where Dean had barely tolerated the occasion, let alone embraced it like he was doing now.

As he watched, Castiel pulled a face and Dean laughed, threw his head back and really laughed for the first time in a long time.

He turned his head, glancing along the corridor and outside, where the snow was continuing to fall. It was stupid; him going all the way to the next town just to find a Christmas tree when Castiel could get one in less than two minutes.

He looked back around into the motel room and pulled a face at the sight that greeted him - Dean straddling Castiel as they kissed. He slammed the door behind him as he strode off down the corridor; going on a half hours drive didn’t seem like such a bad idea after all.

---

“What do you think, then?” Dean pulled out of the kiss, taking the empty glass from Cas and topped it up before handing it back to him, their fingers brushing as he did so.

Castiel placed the glass down on the table next to him and smiled, “I think I could get used to it.”

“Oh, you will,” he smirked, moved onto the other bed and sat back against the headboard, “Drink up.”

He shrugged; it wouldn’t hurt to have another drink, “Is this what you always do at Christmas?” He took a sip of the warm eggnog, “Drink eggnog? Get a tree?”

“Nope, most of the time we go to midnight mass and - sorry, not appropriate.”

“Not really.” He drank a little more eggnog, surprised to realize that he’d finished another glass, “Should we?”

“Should we what?”

“Go to church?”

Dean scratched his head, “Probably not. We might get struck down on the spot.”

“You didn’t answer my question, about what you and Sam usually do for Christmas.”

“Me and Sam? Not a lot, usually. Been too busy to think about it. More eggnog?”

He licked his lips, “Yeah, I think I will.” Sam wasn’t going to be back for a while; he moved over onto the other bed next to Dean and took the offered glass. When Dean shifted a little bit closer, he pretended not to notice.

---

Sam stalked into the building, cursing the weather and bad drivers and Christmas. The trip out had left him with no money, a potential case of pneumonia and a scratch on the Impala. Dean was going to kill him.

He paused outside of the door, trying to decide how to tell Dean, and then realized that he wasn’t even going to tell Dean at all. He’d get Castiel to break it to him gently, to make him see that it wasn’t Sam’s fault. He smiled; having an angel as a pretty-much-brother-in-law was sometimes a good thing.

He pushed the door open and stepped inside the room, eyes widening in horror as he took in the sight before him. Dean, kneeling over Castiel, licking stripes along the angel’s chest.

“Oh, God.”

“That’s blasphemy, Sam.” Castiel turned to look at him.

“And that,” he pointed at them, “That isn’t?”

Dean smirked, and then rolled over onto his back, pulling the sheets up to cover their bodies. “It’s not my fault, Sammy.” He paused for effect. “He tastes better with eggnog.”
