So, I had a really awesome holiday. The cottage that we were staying is was really lovely - very spacious and comfortable and we could see the loch from the window in the conservatory. The area itself was fantastic and it as definitely one of the best holidays we've had. We did lots of different things; walks, loch cruises, a distillery tour. We also took, erm, quite a lot of photos so I'm not going to post them all. These ones were taken from my camera, the ones in the next post that I'll do later are from my sister's. So, here they are :)
This is me on the first day of our holidays. We decided to just do a local walk so that my Mum wouldn't have to drive. It was a really lovely walk that took us by the edge of the loch for part of the way and this was taken on one of the little beaches that we stopped at.
This was taken at one of the beaches along the loch. This beach was one that we visited a few times because it was really beautiful and peaceful. There was a car park right next to it so we drove down a couple of times after walking around this time.
On the first loch cruise that we went on. We were on Loch Katrine which was a long-ish drive from Balmaha, where we were staying. The cruise was one of the highlights of the holiday for me. As you can see there was hardly anyone else on the boat so it was really peaceful and the views were stunning. Plus, halfway through we got a bacon butty for breakfast which was a really nice touch.
One of the views on the Loch Katrine cruise. The water was so still that the reflections were almost perfect.
After the cruise we went on the Three Lochs Forest Drive which, strangely enough, took us past three lochs! This photo was taken at a little stopping point. We were the only people there and it was so, so quiet.
Me and Kizzie at another part of the forest drive.
At the beach again, watching the sun go down.
I have no idea why the Christian Kane icon is relevant to this post, except maybe because we watched lots of Leverage while we were away. Oh well :)
