Work is a total joke. In my department, eight people are currently working their notice periods after resigning. 50% of my immediate team is leaving, including both my bosses. I gotta get out of this place.
Weekend was fairly quiet - went out for drinks a couple of times, and went to Stu's (singer in the band I'm in) solo album launch. He's bravely quit his job to make a living as a solo musician (but he's still playing gigs with us). He's very prolific, writing songs for the band, songs for his solo stuff and songs for his side project. I really wish I had his drive.
Feeling inspired by Stu's productivity, I decided to try and write and record a song on Monday. What started out as a serious attempt at a heartfelt, accoustic guitar-accompanied song ended up as a bizarre, slightly comical, eastern-sounding, short instrumental piece called 'Dromedary' (camel). It fearures the tenor recorder, and me banging on my knees with lots of reverb as improvised drums. Hmmmmmmmm.
