The past week...
Friday: stayed in with a DVD to try to save some money. Watched 'The Butterfly Effect', partly because I fancied staring at Ashton for a while. Blimey, that's one depressing film. Good, and interesting, but not very life-affirming.
Saturday: in another attempt to save money (go me!) I went with my friend to an amateur comedy sketch show in Luton called the Great Brain Robbery, which was very rude and very brilliant. However, there was a bar, so I ended up spending money on beer...and then afterwards I ended up going out for a 'quick drink' in St Albans and spending even more money. Ha ha.
Tuesday: went to Camden in the evening. There's a great new shop called 'Fopp' which has lots of CDs for £5 and books for £3. I was in heaven. Luckily it closed before I could do much damage to my wallet. I bought the bizarre Tim Burton 'Oyster Boy' book, and 'Singles' by Depeche Mode. I am now in love with Depeche Mode. Ok, so it's taken me a couple of decades to catch up... :-)
Then I went to the Caernervon Castle, got approached and asked if I was a musician by a guy who turned out to be a promoter, and was then offered a gig there on Tuesday. Random.
After that I headed across the road with Stu to a venue by the canal (can't remember the name) to see the band 'Battles'. God they were awesome. It was a great atmosphere at the gig - everyone just stood still and took in every note without any jostling or pushing. I was absolutely mesmerised, they were so good.
Yesterday: went shopping in Watford and bought a white studded belt in Primark for £1.50 - total bargain - and some nice black long shorts, which I reckon will be ideal for Download. I love Primark.
When I got home, I weighed myself and found that I am now 9 stone and a quarter - I am so pleased that all my work at the gym over the past four months and my healthy eating is starting to pay off. In December I weighed nearly 10 stone.
