So, first to talk about Saturday. It was AWESOME!! I would link to
hollydb's post, but its friends locked.
Basically, she picked up Senator Claire McCaskill, U.S. Rep Lacy Clay and MO State Auditor Susan Montee and drove them to a Obama rally (no...he wasn't there because he was flying into St. Louis.) In my car was former U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan, U.S. Rep Russ Carnahan and some campaign guy named Craig.
For those of you who may not remember Jean Carnahan, I shall tell a funny story. Mel Carnahan was running against John Ashcroft for the Senate. Mel tragically died in a plane crash before the election. He went on to still win over Ashcroft for the race. More people wanted a dead man than Ashcroft to be their Senator. So Jean took the seat for six years in her husband's honor.
Wonderful woman. We had to stop and get Chinese food because Springfield's cashew chicken is a local specialty. Holly and Claire had a wonderful conversation about the snub pics from the State of the Union and Obama's personal campaign stuff. Senator Carnahan and I had a pleasant conversation about Mrs. Gore, alternative energy and recycling. It was a highlight of my life!!
We then went and heard Bill talk...and talk...and talk. He had a half a dozen finales. Not exaggerating. And we were told to take our Obama buttons off at the door. Holly and I took them off long enough to put them back on. Take that Hilldog!!!
So yeah...I'm so excited about today's primary! I would say more, but I have to go to work now! :-(
