There and back again!
I wrote this sunday night monday morning at 3AM but LJ has NOT let me post it since then! *fumes*,
Guys, I'm back! Actually, I've been back for a few days, but had no time to post whatsoever trying to catch up with my friends and family, and also making for the lost time with my boyfriend! ;P
Anyway, Celebration IV was every bit what I was expecting and more! The panels, the signings, the lines, the shops, the thrill! It was AWESOME! I even had a piece of cake to celebrate the Star Wars 30 years! :D With 3PO on top of it!
New York quite surprised me, though. I didn't know what to expect and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Times Square was my favorite place in NY - and, obviously, I took an "YATTA!" picture there! ;) XD
I have tons of stuff to tell you guys, a very big and LONG retelling of my adventures at NY and at CIV, but it's quite late now - that's what happens when one tries to catch up with her flist after almost 3 weeks! I went through the last 700 entries up until May 21st - and I couldn't go any further because, apparently, back-reading my LJ flist stops at 700 entries!
Anyway, back to CIV...I have many many MANY pics to sort through - almost 900, but most of them are out of focus - no matter how close I was to the stage, it was never close enough. I just want to show you guys one picture of it - actually, two three four and one CIV related pic! - a pic from NY, and a few from the Warner Bros Studio Deluxe Tour I took! :D

I GOT VADER'S EMAIL! OK, I know, it's on his website, no big deal, but he actually wrote it down to me, without me asking for it! XD And...well, as I said above, I'm a dork! XD
MARA JADE JEDI KNIGHT JEDI WHATEVER GOES TO CIV! Don't mind me, it's an inside joke because apparently people have trouble recognizing an obscure costume from an EU SW character - don't forget the EU is obscure here in Brasil, and apparently at the US as well, only one or two people recognized me. *sigh*
And perhaps the BEST part about going to CIV - and spending quite a bit of money - a picture with R2, 3PO, Chewie and Leia's autographs! :D

And now, the only down point in my whole vacation - and on the second to last day, before going to WB, I sprained my ankle! It hurted like hell and it's still swollen!
alphielj's was one of the first LJs I read when catching up, and this is what I had to write about what happened at the end of Sacrifice after reading her post about it - I tried to post it there, but LJ is not very helpful right now.
I was all hyper at Celebration IV - come on, I managed to chance my vacation, got an EUA VISA and air tickets at the last minute just so I could fly all the way to the USA to go to that! - only to find out, at the last day - well, second to last really, but on the last day I only went to One Man Star Wars Trilogy, and it was a shorter day, not to mention that Mara's death *chills* had quite ruined my mood by then - so, at the last day I found out Mara was dead.
I was SO MAD! I mean, the previous week, I had bought the last SW insider before CIV, so, I had read an interview with Karen Traviss, and in her interview she talked about someone dying...and the book is called Sacrifice, and has Mara in the cover, like you mentioned...so...I was afraid that THAT would happen. SO, when the book came out on CIV, I just had to grab a copy and flip through the end to see that Mara was NOT the one who was going to die, but she was.
I almost turned to the author and started screaming "HOW COULD YOU? HOW COULD YOU KILL MARA JADE?" while I chocked her with my own hands, but I thought that wouldn't be a very nice thing to do, mainly because I would be spoiling all the people in line waiting for her autograph on this damn book.
Yes, the author was there - she was at CIV because the book was released there, and there was a day when she would be signing the books, and it was on this day that I chose to read the end of the book.
I just...I couldn't read all the book. I just read that Mara had to land her ship because Jacen had damaged it, and that they fought, and then the last couple of paragraphs when Jacen had poisoned Mara - I couldn't get myself to read the whole thing, even less so when Luke found Mara's body. I read Ben finding her body and that had been bad enought. A few lines of Luke talking to Jaina as well. I...I didn't read the very end. I didn't read anything completely, just phrases and paragraphs here and there because I couldn't bring myself to read it all - or I would KNOW it to be true, I would NOT be able to fantasize that she is still alive.
I was planning to buy the Legacy books, but after that...I don't think I'm going to buy them. I prefer to live in Denial Land about that, and in fanfiction world.
And it was JACEN for crying out loud! When they killed Anakin I was pissed off because I was hoping JACEN would die because he was so annoying and I prefered Anakin, and now that piece of bantha poodoo has gone and killed my favorite SW character EVER!
I'm still not over it, and I have been complaining about it ALL WEEK, with no idea when I will be over it, if ever.
THAT IS SO NOT FAIR TO MARA! THAT IS NOT FAIR TO LUKE! AFTER ALL THIS TIME WITH NO LOVE! THAT IS NOT FAIR TO BEN!
