Some thoughts on Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill Origins ( It's out now!).

I finished my first playthrough of Silent Hill 3. The ending that I got was a good one,I think. Since I killed enemies with melee weapons more than I killed them with guns, I was rewarded with the beam saber ( it's a lightsaber but for legal reasons, it's called a beam saber in SH3) to use in my next playthrough of the game. I also unlocked the ability to enter codes for different outfits for Heather. I enjoyed my time playing SH3. There were some times that I got freaked out by something in the game. The freakiest SH3 moment happened in the "alternate" Brookhaven Hospital. I walked in the 3rd floor storeroom. In the "normal" version of this room, there were supplies and a save point. In the " alternate" version, It's a room with a mirror and a sink. If you stay in the room long enough, You will notice that the reflection of the mirror shows Heather and the room covered in blood. When I saw this, I freaked out. Then, the actual room starts bleeding. Even freakier. When you leave the room and reenter, It's back to normal. Closers, one of the enemies in the game, are a pain in the ass to kill but when they are blocking me, I have no choice.  The plot of SH3 is a good one. SH3 might not have a badass creature like SH2's Pyramid Head but it's still a good game. The music of Akira Yamaoka adds the perfect atmosphere to the game. I have listened to the soundtrack a lot when I wasn't playing the game.  Here are some of my favorite tracks:
-You're Not Here
-End of Small Sanctuary
-Innocent Moon
-Maternal Heart
-Hometown ( I think this song could easily fit in any of the Silent Hill games.)
-I want love ( studio mix)  As a fan of rockin' songs, I liked this version of the song better than the one that was in the game. Badass guitar solo FTW!

Silent Hill 3 is a good game in a awesome series.

I got SHO last night and played a bit of it. This game is a prequel to the first Silent Hill game. Silent Hill Origins is the story of Travis Grady, a truck driver with a troubled past. One night, He decides to take a short cut through Silent Hill to get to Brahms so he can make a delievery. He sees a young girl ( fans of SH know who this girl is) in the middle of the road.  I guess this is a common sighting for anyone going to Silent Hill. He swerves of the road, nearly jack knifing his rig. As he gets out of the truck, He sees the girl running away. Travis decides to follow the girl into a burning house and his crazy Silent Hill eperience begins.

For anyone who doubts the control scheme on the PSP for this game, I haven't had any problems yet with it. It's almost like the controls of the PS2 SH games. You use the analog stick for movement and the d-pad for selecting weapons, a handy feature that you will definitely need. I have read some people at some internet forums complain about the weapons of SHO breaking over time. I like this feature. If you really think about it, It makes sense. In SH2, My weapon of choice was the wooden plank. In the real world, It would eventually break after a while of bashing things with it. A cool new feature of SHO is one time use melee weopns. They are heavy items like tvs, bottles, and typewriters. They are very powerful and if you hold the attack button, You can use a charged attack with them.causing more damage. The enemies of SHO are tough to take down. When I fought my first nurse, She nearly killed me but I eventually defeated her. In the start of the game, You will not find a gun so melee weapons and your fist are your only options. You could also just run away. I also solved my first puzzle by traveling in and out of the 2 versions of Silent Hill, the mist world and the other world. This can be done by using certain mirrors. The puzzle wasn't that hard. I also encountered my fist boss creature, a straitjacket. I tried 2 times to beat him and failed both times. I will try later. PSP owners who are SH fans should pick up this game right now!!!!
