My last LJ entry of 2007.
2007 is almost over. It has been a decent year for me but it could have been better. A Led Zeppelin lyric sums up my 2007. It is " good times, bad times. You know I had my share." I had more good times than bad times so I will not forget this year. It is the year I became a fan of anime and rediscovered the awesomeness of Silent Hill. I didn't get much sleep this year but it's not the end of the world if I don't get enough sleep. I listened to a lot of great music in '07, not crap like Panic At The Disco or Hinder. In my opinion, There were a lot of wicked cool rock albums this year. I normally don't listen to Nine Inch Nails but Year Zero is one badass cd! My opinion on NIN has changed because of that cd. Velvet Revolver released a awesome second cd, Libertad. Scott Weiland is one of the best vocalists of our time and Slash can still play badass guitar solos. Queens of the Stone Age also released a great cd this year,Era Valgaris. It is full of great songs. The best album of 2007 in my opinion is Echoes, Silence,Patience,and Grace by Foo Fighters. It is full of songs that rock and some that are not as rocking but still good. It also has the song of the year, "The Pretender". That song is really good. I was obsessed with that song when it first came on the radio. It's a great opening song to a outstanding cd. ESP&G is the best Foo Fighters album since The Colour and The Shape. That cd was re-released this year with 6 extra songs. The Colour and The Shape is my favorite cd by Foo Fighters and the extra songs make it even better. I finally was able to hear the previously unreleased title track. It's one of their most rocking songs ever! I also saw some good movies in '07 but I saw only one in the theaters, Live Free or Die Hard. It's the fourth movie in the Die Hard franchise. It's the best movie of the year in my opinion. Live Free or Die Hard has tons of great action and a very cool story. Bruce Willis is a great actor and is great as John McClane. Another awesome movie of '07 is Hot Fuzz. It also has great action and some cool comedic moments. The shootout in the town at the end of Hot Fuzz is one of the coolest scenes of this year.
2007 is the year I started watching anime. Before this year, I only seen some anime but I was told about the anime version of Hellsing by my good friend Ayumi. I really enjoyed it and I have also seen the first three Hellsing OVAs. In fact, OVA 2 has the quote of '07 in my opinion. While most people will remember " This is SPARTA!!!!" from 300, I will remember Jan Valentine yelling the classic Konami code while shooting at some Hellsing guards in OVA 2. I have started reading the Hellsing manga. I have the first 5 volumes and I am definitely getting the rest. I also watched Ergo Proxy this year. Another great anime series that not a lot of people know about. Ergo Proxy is full of great characters and a very cool sci-fi story. I also like the overall look of the show, even the vast emptiness of the world outside Romdo. I also watched Black Lagoon, Beck Mongolian Chop Squad,and Death Note this year. One of my goals of the new year is to watch more anime.
In September, I got the new slimmer PSP. The PSP is a great system and there are a lot of great games for it. I like having my music with me whereever I go. I recently ordered a new 4gb memory stick from Amazon for it and I should have it by Thursday. I think you already know what I think about the Silent Hill series by now. I have mentioned it a LOT in this LJ. I will probably mention it a LOT next year so you have been warned.
I think I have summed up 2007 for me as best as I can. I hope you have enjoyed my completely random thoughts this year. I like having a page like this LiveJournal page. I had a MySpace page but this one is much better. I would like to take this time to thank the_nickmo,the_jessmo,Undernet36,getbill,yiyo_chan,and last but certainly not last masterintegra(Ayumi) for all of the great comments and for making this year a good one for me. You are all very cool people and I am a lucky person for knowing you. I hope you all accomplish the goals that you have set for yourselves in '08.
