3. And then love for Dean's new haircut. It's sad that the bf noticed it and I totally didn't. I never notice stuff like that, even with real people.
4. I liked Gordon, and I still like him. He's a complete psycho, but so was John (whom I did like, just not all the time and to the forgetfulness of him being a really shitty parent). I hope Dean got to have angsty, drunk, dirty substitution sex with him before the disillusionment set in.
5. As usual, pretty Sammy is completely right except for the part where he's TOTALLY WRONG. I don't think Dean was replacing John with Gordon, I think he was replacing himself with Gordon. Does that make any sense? Probably not.
6. Because I do things backwards, I need to say how beautifully HAPPY Dean looked in their first bit, with the driving. Just utterly joyful. The bf was like, "Yay, AC/DC!" (which I was too, even though "Back in Black" is not an Impala song, it is a John song), and I was all, "He's so happy! Aw!" And you know Sam was thinking the same thing! eta: Though I feel the need to note what a crappy paint job they've given that poor car. Hasn't she been through enough?
7. Yay Dean hit him! Finally! Christ on a cracker.
8. It's really totally, totally wrong that I found the decapitation of the vampire at the mill scene kind of hot, right? I thought so. Especially since BLOODPLAY SQUICKS ME. It wasn't really bloodplay though. It was the kind of bloodletting/wearing that I actually do like--incidental, as if it doesn't matter. Fucking HOT, anyway. Oh, Dean.
9. It took a lot of convincing for me to believe Lenore was Amber Benson. I'm still not sure. I mean, I know it is her, because the credits say so. She just didn't look or act a thing like Tara. Which is cool. I'm just not used to actors being able to play more than a couple kinds of characters.
10. There was something a little off about Dean/Jensen throughout the episode, and I know it's supposed to be like that, but it's also like some of his lines are from a different version of the script. Too light, too joke-y. Forced? Yeah. In the bad way. Though I think I can live with the end, where Dean tells Sam to hit him, with an interpretation like--he's buckling under the pressure of what John told him, the secret he's keeping, the fact that he can't do anything about it. And the GUILT of not sharing with Sam is making him a little crazy (beyond the His Father Just Died, For Pete's Sake! thing), and he wants Sam to be mad at him, he wants Sam to hit him.
(Please Sam, hit him. Hard.)
11. I squeed when Dean said he'd beat the buzzkill out of Sam (later! In their room! Ee!). The bf gave me a weird look. I repeated the line. Awkward silence ensued. Oh well.
12. Yeah, yeah, I love Sam too. I guess I have to, since Dean is KEEPING SECRETS FROM ME. Argh.
