WHO - TANG CLAN!
The glorious photo above is of me rocking out with Patrick as Mr. Mayor. It was taken by the incomparable Mat at the Friday night show. Thanks to him and everyone else who came! Hannah, Sara - happy birthday by the way! - and the lovely Aviva. It was also fun to have my mom and dad, aunt and uncle, my cousin Michi and her boyfriend Jamie, my cousin Monique and her boyfriend Tom, cousin Steven and my cousin Jay who just moved here from Australia! Yeah I have a ton of cousins and that doesnt even scratch the surface, my mum comes from a nice little French - Canadian/Irish family of 8 kids. It must have been very odd for Jay because the first time he saw me in 8 years I was workin' it onstage like the crazy freak I truly am.
I have serious P.P.D. Post-Production Depression. I just love being part of a show because it drives you and pushes you to do great things. I had the most severe P.P.D. after we finished doing The Hobbit. I was actually crying, everyone was. Oh dear beloved ace crew that tour was so fun. But that was especially traumatic because after the last show we all dismantled the set.
Today was similarly traumatic as Joseph and I went down to the cafeteria to find the Jungle of Nool. Yes the set has been striked, our last notes have been sung, and I will most likely never again play the kinky Mrs. Mayor, marvel at the black light of the "hunch" scene, hear Gertrude belt out "All For You" with pizazz, watch Mayzie turn Horton on *BING!*, or stand backstage to hear the triumphant phrase "Vlad Vladicoff! CAWW!" and many other great scenes. But the memories shall live on I assure you. So seeing the set today reminded me of all the time the visual artists spent making the darn thing!
