a phantom potpourri.
in the past three days, i recorded and mixed and mastered my submission for pdx pop now. it's "before i knew," which i posted a demo of in the previous post. DOWNLOAD MY PDX POP SUBMISSION HERE EH
it was really fun distorting the shit out of everything. but even performance-wise, i don't think i've recorded vocals any quicker than i did on this. it's not a simple melody, and it goes up to the top of my range...but somehow, i sang it in 15 minutes and i am totally happy with it. it probably helps that i put them through a distorted amp effect.
so obviously recording the spookies stuff has had an effect on my approach to it. with this song, i thought it would be cool to try to apply the same aesthetics to what i normally do here on my computer. in short, distorted drums RULE.
