a lot of albums by my favorite bands came out this year. i also worked at jackpot for a month and a half (boooo), so i got to hear more new music than i normally do. so i feel i can actually do a proper year-end list this year. cheggit:
best albums of 2011:
1. coldplay - mylo xyloto
2. wilco - the whole love
3. the war on drugs - slave ambient
4. cults - S/T
5. foo fighters - wasting light
the washed out album alllllmost got on there, but i have a feeling it'll sound really dated in five years, so foo fighters win that round. i feel weird putting a foo fighters album on there, but it actually is really good! and sonically, it's great too (recording geek stuff, yeah yeah yeah). also, it reminds me of the maui trip since i listened to it a lot there. (conversely, the war on drugs, cults and wilco albums remind me of jackpot, so i haven't listened to them once since i got fired. but they're still great albums, hopefully i'll get over that soon.)
also notice how albums by R.E.M., they might be giants, radiohead and little wings aren't on there. sorry, try harder guys (well R.E.M. isn't together anymore so i guess they can't).
