been a mostly boring past couple of days. got a really good response so far from fans and the local weeklies about "mystic misery." however, nick wasn't happy with me for leaking it! i knew there was a chance that he might be upset with me at first, but i really just wanted to get a morsel out there to see what might happen on a bigger scale. nick doesn't really understand how bands use the internet these days, and i'm trying to get across to him that i think we can really work it just by posting things to band camp, twitter, etc and sending them around.
after discussing it a bit more with him, i think he's coming around to it. we might end up just putting the whole album on band camp for free. it's better than sitting on it for who knows how long. i just don't want this band to die, and it's on the verge of doing so, with nick frustrated with the labels and wanting to take a "long break." this is kind of a last ditch effort to get it going again i guess.
casey from the willamette week wants to do a catch-up interview with nick too, which i think he will do. we don't have our go-to interview guy (mayhaw) anymore, so hopefully that will work out and be a good thing.
