yesterday ky and heather came over and hung out with alyssa and i for a bit. the main reason for the visit was for ky to give some more pugs tracks to me. he recorded some AWESOME sax on "draw me out." and tons more backing vox on that and four other songs. it's crazy how much mayhaw and ky have added to this album. this album would have been made with or without my pugs, but there are so many cool, indispensible things that would not have been there without them. it surely would not have been as good. i just have to wonder how much better past albums would have been with some pugs too.

so yeah, the album is almost done! ky said he'd have the rest of his overdubs done by the end of the week. we wanna try to get mayhaw to record a few vocal parts, but then it'll be done!

today held for me a good marathon shaky hands practice. i had my newly fixed iron-man-colored p-bass with me, and it felt so much better than the old brown yamaha. nick even noted that it seemed like i felt more comfortable with it, especially on "love curse." it just feels more like a real bass. i love it. i wouldn't get a bass with active electronics again, but mine is a good'un. can't wait for the backspace show on friday. here's the setlist in advance:

already gone, shot down, answers, we are young, sunburns, hanging on the water, love curse, pump it up, all you recall, slip away / i'm alive, mystic misery, summer's life

what's a sax?
