XXIX Olympics 2008
Today is Singapore's National Day and Tao Li, as a Singaporean [since 2002] has given the tiny Republic a big birthday present. Qualifying for Swimming's Semi-Finals with the Butterfly stroke. She is ranked #4, losing to Australia and China [I think]. Though I know she's not natively Singaporean, it doesn't stop me from fangirling and screaming like some deranged psycho from Singapore. She might be our ONLY hope, a girl no less, to carry our national colors at such a prestigious international stage. She has a shot and I think Table Tennis might do well too ne? :D
Some people would say we're cheating 'cos yeah all our top athletes are imports from other countries, notedly China. But like my icon suggests, we are just thinking out of the box. Nothing wrong with grooming the so-called rejects from other countries. Every country has its strength and I'm much impressed by Australia, China and Japan in Olympics this year. Singapore? We're just good at being economically stable and hopelessly small. We're giving these athletes a chance to shine in a cut throat world where they may never be discovered. I'll like to think so.
I've been jabbering non stop in mandarin because I've never been more proud of my ancestry. I know people will say it's a fad and what not but who cares? It makes me happy to see the same smile on same color. 2008 is the year of the Chinese. 所有的华人,让我们站起来一起 征服世界。

For those who asked: I'm getting better. The fever has finally died down but the phlegm is stuck in my throat and I wanna chop my nose off D;
Oh and thanks to unmei_no_deai, I've taken the plunge and decided to go to Animania though I happily forgot to pre-register. And hopefully as MisaMisa, though of cos I'm not blonde and anorexic though I shall attempt to carry off the look. Which reminds me I need a haircut, I want my bangs back and does ANYONE in my flist ship DN fandom or am I just weird? LOL I spent the last night, sneezing my nose off as I rewatched DN anime and episode 25 made me wanna ship L x Raito so bad it hurts. Now time to break out my needles and start sewing or something.
