There are some things that success is not; it's not fame, it's not money or power.
Success is waking up in the morning and being so excited about what you have to do that you literally fly out the door.
It's getting to work with people you love.
Success is connecting with the world and making people feel.
It's finding a way to bind together people who have nothing in common but a dream.
It's falling asleep at night knowing you did the best job you could.
Success is joy and freedom and friendship...and success is love.
This monologue is from the 2009 remake of "Fame." It made me tingly and teary. Why? Because that second line describes me as a counselor. When I wake up on morning I get to work at a school, I never want to push snooze. I just want to be there as soon as possible. I love it with every fiber of my being. I love it, I love it, I love it.
This movie might not have been great overall, but it left me believing in myself. So, I guess I call that a success.
(Yes, I'm aware how cheesy I am!!)
