I've had crazy dreams the past two nights.
Monday night I dreamt that I was driving north on Highway 5, coming back from Imperial Beach. I was just about downtown when I notive this gray truck and recognize a little boy in the back seat. He is the little boy who was abducted from San Bernadino. I get the license plate number of car and check it against the Amber Alert posted on the electronic signs on the freeway. Sure enough, it matches. I realize that my bluetooth isn't charged, so I have to decide to risk getting a ticket for talking on my cell phone, but of course I make the call to 911. I call it in and keep the gray truck in my line of sight. Fortunately, there were police stationed at the intersection of 5 and 8, so I was able to get off and they were able to pull over the gray truck. I saved the little boy.
Now, last night, I dreamt that my grandma bought a very small laptop, similar to what my mom recently purchased. She was talking about sending emails and playing bridge online. The only problem: she had no idea how do anything else that wasn't a link on her desktop. She was asking how to get on Facebook to be friends with her grandchildren. She wanted to "go green" and bill pay online. And when I asked her about using the cell phone my dad got for her and pays for every month, her response was "I'm too old for technology."
Have I been drugged the past two nights or is this all a result of the pain from the sprained ankle? Either way, it's ridiculous because these dreams feel so realistic and I wake up struggling to remember what is reality. I had myself convinced on Tuesday morning, as I woke up at 6:30am, that I had saved that little boy. It took my a few minutes to remember that I had not driven on Highway 5 since Friday afternoon, and even then I wasn't even driving but we were in my car.
I guess what surprises me most is the vivid detail with which I can remember both dreams. It's pretty awesome.
