Well, we just got home from the N. Texas State Fair and I must say it was everything I expected. That is; noisy, crowded, expensive, smelly. We went with my cousins (as a BD celebration for the now 9 year old) and did have fun. It's nice to see something consistant in the world. I think State Fairs are consistant and good for the getting away from the crazies. I do think it is amazing what some people (especially teens) are willing to wear in public! Spandex and other skimpys are not a right!
I have spent the last 2 weeks teaching 3rd grade. I have not injured anyone - go me! I have determined that I do not think that I am the one to break the kids into "back to school" mode. Oh well. I've got one parent ticked at me but since he is a known jerk I am only midly distressed. I would like to ignore him but when someone says you are "mean...a tyrant...bad with children... and... a control freak" it stings a little. 1 more week to go.
Glen is in 5th now which is Lake Dallas Intermediate. The school has only 5th grade and it's good for them to practice switching classes and stuff. So far so good for him on school work. His OT has done amazing things. He still looks like Harry Potter though.
I have mailed out huge quantities of flyers and CD's for Vocal Magic. Hope they work! Be sure and check out our updated website (www.vocal-magic.net). Bruce did an amazing job in my humble opionion. We do accept comments and suggestions if you have any. Still looking for tenors though. Maybe a bass (or 2) in tight pants(that's always nice anyway)?
Anyone with some spare rain please send it this way. I can't take the heat much longer. Bruce is starting to mumble about moving back to KS again. Not that there are any jobs there but he's guess there are fewer cars in the state of KS than he encounters on his way home from work.
Time for sleep. Sweet dreams to all!
