Broadway stuff

I finally got to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (at the Bushnell) today, after years of purposefully not listening to the cast album. I can't say I was disappointed, but the show did take a little while to really get going for me (basically, by the time Jolene Oakes showed up). And I'd seen the movie, so I know the final twist that it tries to keep so secret (even going so far as to have a track on the CD warning you not to listen any further until you see the show, and a dummy paragraph in the synopsis), but I was curious if they would change it or not.
I loved the set, with its art deco scenery and slippery pieces, plus the lighting was amazing. And I think that the entire cast did a great job. The two leads had good chemistry, and in my opinion, the actress who played Muriel had better hair than Joanna Gleason, who originated the role. I wish I'd gotten a better look at Jolene's outfit, but being in the first row of the balcony is still just a little too far away.

And now, the Tonys. The only show I really know anything about this season is Curtains (and I really do hope that Debra Monk wins for Best Actress in a Musical), but folks are predicting Spring Awakening will do a sweep.
