New Years Madness (kinda)

Jan 01, 2007 21:53

As promised, here are the full details of my new year's eve. But first,
January: Happy New Year, folks.

February: Well, all is not so fine with my laptop.

March: XD! (a link to a Sore Thumbs comic)

April: I had a little trouble adjusting to DST, and remembering to set all the clocks that don't reset themselves (including the VCR, even though it should set itself...)

May: I don't generally do this kind of thing, but it's been on my mind for a while, and I want to get it out.

June: It was one of the more interesting days at Lake Compounce.

July: The Fandom Association Meme

August: My day was good and a bad at the same time.

September: Tagging old entries continues.

October: Twice today my ring slipped of my finger.

November: First day of NaNoWriMo, and the tally so far is 1206 words.

December: Out of my three ILS classes, only one has an actual final exam, and that'll be tomorrow.

Anyway, Dave and I went out on a doubledate with his parents to a fancy restaurant in town, Bistro 501. Really nice place, and the food was fantastic. The lighting was kind of smoky, though, so the pictures I took didn't come out that well.
After dinner, Dave kept going on about how he wanted to show me some bridge, so I knew something was up. But it was raining on and off, plus it was cold, so the rest of us nixed the bridge idea. Instead, we rented a movie (Akeelah and the Bee) and watched that until six minutes to midnight, when we switched to NBC to watch the ball drop. Also at this time, Dave's brother and his girlfriend came out of the basement and his sister came home from an event at church ("too many little kids," she said), so we all got to toast the new year (with sparkling juices) together.
Once everyone had clinked glasses together and things were winding down (and I sat down again), Dave came over and pulled me up again, so I definitely knew something is up. And indeed, he propose to me right then and there, and I said yes ^_^ And there you have it.
