The thing with zombie fandoms is that they usually get me eventually, so I'm wondering if I should just give in. But on the other hand, I still haven't been sucked into Torchwood at all, so maybe Merlin won't get me.

Ha, I realised when typing out the 'reasons to watch' versus the 'reasons not to watch' that it was hopelessly skewed towards watching.

IN MY EXPERIENCE IF THE CANON IS NOT THAT GREAT AND KINDA DORKY BUT VERY, VERY SLASHY, THEN THE FANDOM TENDS TO BE PRETTY AWESOMECAKES. WHICH IS KIND OF THE MAIN REASON WHY I'M CONSIDERING MERLIN SO MUCH REALLY. I HAVE ALREADY HEARD THAT IT IS NOT EXACTLY GREAT LITERATURE, BUT THE FACT THAT EVERYONE'S RAVING ABOUT HOW SLASHY IT IS MAKES ME THINK IT MUST BE LURING IN SOME OF THE GOOD WRITERS.

HAVING SAID THAT, I'M ALREADY READING SPN AND SGA AND HAVE WAAAAY TO MUCH GOOD FIC TO READ AT ANY GIVEN TIME, SO MAYBE PICKING UP ANOTHER FANDOM IS A BAD PLAN. I THINK I AM MAYBE FANDOM MONOGAMOUS AT HEART. O__o

IDK, IDK. I WILL PROBABLY WATCH IT IF I FINISH WATCHING FULL METAL ALCHEMIST BEFORE ALL MY TV SHOWS RESUME AFTER CHRISTMAS. AND I MIGHT WATCH IT OVER XMAS ANYWAY, BECAUSE I AM BAD AT FORCING MYSELF TO ONLY ATTEMPT TO CATCH UP WITH ONE TV SERIES AT A TIME.

THIS IS SO VERY VERY TRUE. I HAVE ALREADY NOTICED IT LURING IN SOME GREAT WRITERS, PARTICULARLY FROM SGA. AND, I THINK IT IS SIMILAR TO SGA IN A LOT OF WAYS. WITH THE CANON NOT BEING SO GOOD, BUT GIVING LOTS OF MATERIAL FOR THE FANDOM. :)
