[He begins by speaking in a quiet voice, almost to himself.]

Ah, this is much more painful than I anticipated.

[Shinichi is silent for a moment, then speaks up a a very calm and controlled voice.]

I have been bitten by a snake.  A Western Diamondback Rattlesnake is my best guess based on the appearance of the animal.  Crotalus Atrox.

Recommended treatment for snakebites with no option of a hospital is to allow it to bleed freely for thirty seconds followed by wrapping the affected limb in a pressure bandage. Suction devices can be utilized, so long as they do not cut into the surface of the injury. A pressure bandage should be applied and the victim should be kept calm with the affected limb held below the level of the heart.

[Laura clicks the communicator off and comes to find him, she is carrying the first aid kit from her own wagon. He is easy to spot as his face is white.]
