Hey everyone, I just wanted to make sure that everyone was up-to-date with a couple of the ongoing projects I'm spearheading.

First up is the as-yet-untitled chain writing project, which will be starting on January 3rd. I'm sure everyone is familiar with this type of storytelling - one person (me) starts a story, and then a second person will continue it, and then a third, and so on.

In terms of structure, we're still aiming for a new story part published every three days, in an order determined randomly at the outset of the project, and we still have an anticipated start date of January 3rd.. We'll have a total of 5 'rounds' of storytelling before the final chapter is written - the author of the final chapter will be chosen by popular vote as we get closer to that time. If your 'turn' is coming up, and you know you won't be able to find time to write within that window, you can either 'pass' (moving yourself to the end of the storytelling order for that round), or 'skip' (missing your turn in that round entirely). We'll be using Google Documents to publish the entire story, which will make it available online for reading as the story's in progress.

If you would like to be involved in this project, please make sure to email me at ryanharron@gmail.com prior to December 15th, so that I can add you to the list of contributors before we start the project.

I also wanted to remind everyone, in case anyone had forgotten, that The Friday Haiku is still being published via email every Friday at 4pm Eastern Standard Time. To receive a subscription to The Friday Haiku, you must have previously submitted a haiku poem to the zine. Haiku can be submitted to friday.haiku@gmail.com at any point during the week, and more information about haiku, including examples of the style of poetry, can be found at http://friday.haiku.googlepages.com and http://ryanharron.googlepages.com/haiku. To date, 46 poets have published nearly 400 poems through The Friday Haiku.
