Callused hands
Worn knees
What they endure
Will never be
Anything greater than
The pain that comes
From a lifetime of
Broken hearts
The heart is fragile
As it is strong
The more it aches
The stronger it becomes
The walls go up
A defense is made
But the heart still yerns
For another to take it away
We may never be healed
But will always want more
We would rather feel pain
Than nothing at all
Loneliness, abandonment and uncertainty makes us fall
Falling for another is no easy task
When cautious if these feelings will last
What starts off fresh and seems sincire
May fade away in under a year
If we never take the chance
To let our heart go
Then we'll lead a life
To which we'll never know
If it could have been the one
A question we often ponder
But when you find that one
You'll feel your heart grow stronger
So let your heart lead you on
It'll guide you through the storm
We often feel week and powerless
When our walls begin to lose form
We'll find safety in another
The comfort of two hearts
When they've found each other...
