Fri, 3/9: Class as usual, and spent the night chilling at home.
Sat, 3/10: After class in the morning I picked up my cousin Anjo for lunch and then he went to my cousin Danielle's bday party w/ my dad and brother. We pretty much spent all day there; I was pretty tired from class so I mostly just lazed about. The funniest thing was that there were 4 DSs there (mine, my cousin Danielle got one for her bday, my nephew Cameron and my cousin Rosemary), so we played a LOT of DS games. My cousin Armando is thinking of getting a DS and Mario Kart now XD Nintendo DS FTW! We also watched Fearless later that night.
Sun, 3/11: I think DST threw me off a bit, but I still went climbing. I started out really slow, but I woke up and hit my stride about halfway through. I spent a lot of the 2nd half of my session helping out some newbies, which was pretty fun. I think I spent the rest of the day lounging at home and playing Wesnoth XD
Mon, 3/12: Went out w/ my dad, bro and
uriel_godfire to see
300. That was quite enjoyable. I think I should have read the comic prior to seeing the movie though, just to get my mindset right. I think I was craving tactical spectacle, so I wasn't as excited as I thought I would be when I got fantastical romanticization. It was still a blast though. If you can believe it, I actually thought there weren't *enough* fighting scenes XD I think that's a symptom of desiring to see tactical spectacle rather than just adrenaline pumped action (also, did anyone else chuckle a bit at how some of the scenes were framed with wailing and rocking guitar riffs? XD) But I did enjoy what was presented. In fact, I think my favorite fight scene was the one where the 2 Spartans fought back to back, covering each other and creating openings for each other to kill opponents with. That was friggin' awesome.
The exciting trailers that I saw were
Hot Fuzz (which I totally need to see after seeing the trailer) and the new (at least to me)
Spider Man 3 trailer. You know, the one where they show
Venom. That's gonna be a lot of villans for one movie. I'm really interested in seeing how Raimi fits everything that the trailers imply is going to happen into a single movie.
