That's when a line's crossed. There have been times it gets to such an extreme I'm more ashamed of individual citizens actions rather than the actual policies they were trying to draw attention to in the first place (even if I don't approve of the policies, either). Both represent America: the leader and the citizen. When the disrespect gets to such an extreme it's class-less, neither is a snapshot I'd like to project, nor give more ammunition to countries that probably already hate us anyway. 2 wrongs don't make a right.
Where that line lays though and where drastic measures become too drastic, I'll be honest I'm not exactly sure. (Or in Palin's words, "I'll get that information for you and get back to you".) I'd probably become pretty drastic too if it was Hitler running the country, and I know a lot of people feel like Bush is Hitler.
Since we've had the worst--well, everything--we've seen in our lifetimes under the Bush Administration I can at least see where Bush-bashers are coming from, even if I still don't condone it. That's why with this election's results I'm trying to act by example the way I wish everyone else would, even when the circumstances aren't favorable.
I understand that's the nature of politics (which is why I'll never be in them), but leader or citizen, Democrat or Republican, we could benefit from a little respect for each other all across the board.
