Well, we're going! In the end it came down to the wire; in a midnight meeting on the night of the deadline we set, we decided that we have to finish what we started. It is a step of faith, since we don't have all the funds we need, but they are trickling in. Friends, mostly young people who have had faith experiences like this before, are giving what they can, little by little.
Our families have come through in a big way as well. We are thankful and blessed. For me it came down to a question. After all this time, will you let yourself off on a technicality, or will you risk it all and go? God does not have to provide for us, but based on the revelation of his character, on my past experience, I believe he will.
Right now I feel a new flicker of hope. The last few weeks have been dark. I want to position myself to listen and receive. I'm finding it harder than ever, a problem compounded by various factors, especially that where I live right now is saturated with noise. I miss my 'runway' in Penang in front of T.A.R College where I would walk and pray, morning and night. Those were precious times. I'm finding it difficult to locate a similar place here, where I can have privacy to actively pray, actively be. It's cold in Canada and if left to my room, I tend to drift in and out of sleep. I did that this morning, but with a new resolve to have the discipline to meet with God.
